This is the second issue we have had with the stability track on this vehicle. First incident was at the end of January 2019. Now less that 4 months later it happens again. While driving, the brakes auto engage, but no warning or light appears on the dash or information screen. Then once you stop the vehicle as you cant drive it the service stabilitrack/ traction control message comes across the information screen. The roads were clean and dry, we noticed something odd at 25 miles per hour but were unable to stop as there wasn't anywhere to safely pull over. We had just left a store parking lot and were merging into traffic, no excessive speed or erratic driving. So this happening out of the blue in heavy traffic is a safety issue. This is the main vehicle that our child rides in and shouldn't have to be repaired in less than 2000 miles from the first time it happened.

Bracket that hold the E-brake cable to the frame and also creates tension that enables the E-brake to engage broke off the frame where it was originally welded. The E-brake does not engage causing the vehicle to roll. The dealer located the bracket but said that they do not weld. The dealer says that the bracket needs to be welded back on to the frame. The dealer does not do welding. This is a manufacturing defect.

The contact owns a 2013 Chevrolet Captiva. The contact stated that the emergency brake was applied, but the vehicle failed to respond. The vehicle was taken to a local dealer (sunset auto center located at 1300 N H St lompoc, ca 934136 805-743-3903) where it was diagnosed that the cross bar metal bracket needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was 55,350. Updated 08/22/17

The brake peddle fails to return to the normal operating height while the vehicle is in motion causing the brake lights as well as the brakes to stay on only when the heat is directed at your feet for long periods of time. I have been to the dealer several times for this concern as well as contacting GM directly regarding this concern and they dont seem to care about this safety concern. This issue happens when the vehicle is being operated under normal conditions with the heat on after 30 mins of driving and then the peddle with start to stick
