2013 Chevy captiva, caught fire inside the car. The car was no running. Car was parked at work in a parking lot. Came out after 8'hour shift to find the inside dashboard and radio melted away. Filed a police report.

With through a worthless process with Chevrolet complaints department. After 10 days or so they had a company ratheon do an assessment. We received a letter merely stating they found no merit to our claim.

They said we are not entitled to the name of the person who did the assessment. They also said they cannot provide anything in writing stating their findings. So basically, we got screwed. We were able to put the claim through the insurance agency. They totaled the vehicle. Their investigator said there was no way it wasn't a Chevy defect that caused the fire. Only problem with insurance paying is I have a 1000.00 deductible.

So disqusted.

Update from Oct 8, 2016: Chevrolet still refuses to provide us in writing why they are not at fault for the dashboard fire. They only stated there was no merit to the complaint. So,the car starts of fire through the dash board without the car running, with the doers locked, nothing plugged in. Police determined to foul play. Car fire was obvious an electrical, issue.

So Chevrolet is saying that it is not their Fault, but will not tell,is what causes the fire. No resolution
