This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
1.) leaking battery (acid) caused the electrical harness at the conector under the battery to become deteriated (corroded). 2.) this affected the headlights by cutting off the electrical current and shutting off the headlight. A night time failure could have been very dangerous. 3.)I took the vehicle to a repair station and paid $300 to have the problem fixed. The harness was not replaced, only patched because a harness replacement would have been too costly for me.
Battery terminal leaked, and since a lot of wiring is located under the battery, the acid ate the wires that go to the headlights, turn signals, and running lights. My highbeams work, and my drivers side turn signal work. Warranty wont cover, they said it was the battery. Why have wiring under the battery?
