Letter from senator sessions on behalf of constituent re a pending General Motors warranty claim on a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado. When the consumers wife went to put the vehicle in park, the vehicle proceeded to accelerate through a window of an office building. The wrecker service verified that the gear shift was loose, leaving the transmission in the forward position. GM denied the consumers warranty claim, even though it was well within the five year. 50,000 mile warranty period.

I own a 2006 Chevrolet Colorado ls. Inexplicably and randomly, it shifts itself into 4WD high. Often this is while making a right hand turn. Chevrolet stopped servicing my vehicle, telling me there was no cure for this problem. It has happened at high speeds on the highway as well. The most recent date this happened was yesterday while I was turning into my post office. This has been a constant problem since the recorded mileage was 2,109. Records will show the truck was in for service by GM at least 15 times. Incidentally, this is a replacement truck for a 2005 Colorado that had precisely the same problem. Before the dealer was shut down by GM, the service manager told me that GM detroit had told him not to service the vehicle for this problem any longer as GM had no cure for it.

I have a 2006 Colorado 2006 crew cab L-5 engine. I have owned it for 2 1/2 months. It has been to the dealer for 1. rear main bearing seal leak three times. 2. two wheel alignments. 3. auto- transmission cable fell off. This was when I was bringing it in to the dealer for one of the many repairs. 4. it still has to go back for replacing the rear window (on order). This vehicle has been in the shop for 25% of the time I have owned it.
