I have an issue with my 2015 Colorado where the engine idle goes extremely rough. The idle goes crazy and drops under 1000 rpms and makes the car vibrate violently. This is sporadic after the car is in a standing position. I took it to the dealer where it stayed for over a week and when I went to pick it up, they claimed they found nothing with the engine or in the computer history. Frustrated because it is a $35k vehicle where I am making monthly payments.

On six different occasions my less than a year old Colorado just stalls for no apparent reason. No warning, it just silently dies. I taken it to the dealership each time and they cannot find a problem. They said there is no history of this problem and they are waiting for it to happen again. Very aggravated here!

About a week ago, my Colorado started sounding sluggish any time I stopped at a traffic light after initial start up. After doing this for a couple of days sporadically, I attempted to start up and head to the dealership to report the issue, and my truck stalled at the edge of my driveway because I had to wait for a vehicle to pass. I had to restart twice to get it running to finally get to the dealership. I made an appointment, brought my vehicle back 48 hours later having no problems for 48 hours and then the service department couldn't get it started to move it to the garage. They kept my truck through the weekend.

They found that there was an issue with the high pressure fuel pump, so they replaced it. I picked up my vehicle yesterday, had no issues on the 30 minute trip home no gurgling, no stalls, no low battery power issues. I Stopped for fuel 3 blocks from my house and didn't have any issue on restart and at the 3 stop signs before I got to my house. I backed into my driveway, took about 20 minutes to do some cleaning up of my seats, emptying my truck bed, and I reinstalled my son's car seat base into the back seat and then prepared to head to my National Guard unit for flight training. When I went to start up, The engine stalled and I was back where I was a week ago EXCEPT this time the check engine light remained on after start up.

I managed to get it to start after putting my truck into neutral to start it. I noticed the battery power fluctuating at 11.1-12.4 volts at start up and while driving back to the dealership (now being late for flight training) the voltage never exceeded 14.3 volts.

This time when I brought it back, the service department had no trouble starting it up to take it back for diagnostics/trouble shooting this time. My Onstar system does not recognize any issue even after I asked it to run a quick check immediately after I got it started.

I really love this truck. I had a hard time searching for a truck for 2 years until the new and improved version of this truck came along. I haven't even owned this truck a year and I'm surprised that this is happening. hopefully they can pinpoint the issue and fix it.

I was sitting at a red light and when it turned green I'm pushing on the gas peddle but not moving. I realized it had stalled out. Had to put it in park and restart. It has been idling really low and but I neeeeever thought I'd be stuck in the middle of the road stalled out. This is dangerous and I'm soooooooo disappointed in this truck!!!!!

I'm a FORD girl and I'm thinking I made a mistake. I did see others on here that have had this issue but by the time they get to the auto shop the error has reset and so there is no fix. NOT GOOD! Every time I come to a stop or sitting in traffic I have to throw it in park when it starts to idle low again to avoid it dying out! Again, NOT HAPPY.

I have an appointment to take it in but my fear is they will not take the time to duplicate the issue and just give it right back. I've had a few people that really like this truck and at first I said it was really nice but with this safety issue I fell it is my responsibility to let them know about this issue and that my online research shows I'm not the only one having a problem.

Disappointed.

My new Colorado is sick, and I can't wait to find out why. When the vehicle is started cold after about 10 minutes the engine will die. This has never happened while accelerating, Only while at idle. The truck will start right back up and run fine after that. I can't imagine why a brand new truck would stall out like that. Does anyone else on here have any real advice on a similar issue before I have to go back to the dealer for the 2nd time?

ENGINE STALLS INTERMITTENTLY WHEN BEGINNING TO ACCELERATE FROM RED LIGHT/STOP SIGN. STALLS OCCURRED WITHIN 1 MILE DISTANCE FROM WHERE VEHICLE WAS STARTED.

FIRST STALL WAS AT RED LIGHT MOVING FORWARD SLIGHTLY. SHIFTED THE VEHICLE TO PARK, TURNED KEY, VEHICLE TURNED OVER AND WAS ABLE TO DRIVE ONCE PUT IN DRIVE. THE VEHICLE WAS IMMEDIATELY TAKEN TO THE CHEVY SERVICE CENTER. THE SERVICE ADVISER WAS ABLE TO READ AN ERROR CODE P0506 EVEN THOUGH THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS NOT ILLUMINATED.

CHEVY COULD NOT SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR THE VEHICLE UNTIL 5 DAYS LATER; THE ERROR HAD CLEARED AND THEY WERE UNABLE TO DUPLICATE THE PROBLEM. SERVICE DEPARTMENT DECLARED VEHICLE SAFE TO DRIVE AS IT THE ISSUE COULDN'T BE DUPLICATED. ENGINE STALLED A SECOND TIME WHEN BEGINNING TO CROSS ROAD AT A TWO-WAY STOP WITH ONCOMING TRAFFIC. SHIFTED VEHICLE TO PARK, TURNED TRUCK BACK ON, SHIFTED TO DRIVE AND WAS ABLE TO MOVE FROM INTERSECTION WITHOUT BEING HIT..

THE COLORADO WAS TAKEN TO THE DEALERSHIP A FEW HOURS LATER AND THE ERROR CODE HAD CLEARED ALREADY. SERVICE ADVISER STATED THE CAR WAS SAFE TO DRIVE AND THERE WAS NO WORK TO BE DONE AS THEIR WERE NO WARNING CODES AND THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WAS NOT ILLUMINATED.

The engine shut down for the first time approximately 2 months after I purchased it. I purchased it on Feb 29 2015, since then it has repeated this issue at least 8 times over the last 9 months, the most recent was today (11/17/15). The engine never shuts down during driving but when you're in traffic and sitting idling at a stop and push the gas pedal to proceed and nothing happens. You then have to put it in park and restart engine. It has gotten progressively worse by doing violent jerking before it shuts off and this is during driving or as you take off. Also when I took it in the first time back in April, the dealership kept it for over a month and found nothing except a slight hum in the rear end, so the entire rear end was replaced. I'm afraid that this issue will get even worse as time goes on.

I do not trust this truck anymore. There was NO reason for this new truck to turn off in drive. I was surrounded by semisand had to throw truck in Neutral to restart and proceed on through the now Green light so I won't get hit with my faulty seat hooks. What a piece of sh*t! Did they buy the award truck of the year - or were they the only option out there.......I want the Ford Ranger to return!
