Touch screen locks up and no touch screen functions work, no audio whatsoever. Took to dealership where they did a software update. I still have this happening but seems to only happen in winter. When this happens either the touchscreen just locks up but the radio is still playing and you're unable to make any changes, or both the screen will lock up and nothing will play, or I'll get the dreaded "black screen" and either the radio will continue to play or I'll get nothing at all (this includes no rear camera).

When you try shutting off the ignition, the display will blink with the time and temp then shut off, and go to black. I then open and close the door and start back up getting either one of the two previous problem screens again. I started keeping a 10mm wrench in the truck to disconnect the negative side of the battery and then hooking it back up, then the issue is corrected except for having to reset the time and date. This is one of two issues I have had with this vehicle and will be the last GM product I will ever buy again.

Brand new vehicle with which it appeared first as a radio problem but turned into a touch screen issue.

Tech center in Detroit told dealer to replace radio. It worked for a few days then back to the dealer. Tech center in Detroit now tells the dealer to install another new radio. This again only worked a few days. Into the dealer again and Tech center in Detroit tells the dealer to install a new touch screen. This seemed to work but only for about 3,000 miles. In the meantime I had found a video on You Tube that shared a touch screen problem the same as mine. It said to pull the radio fuse under the dash fuse panel and put the same fuse back in. I did this before taking the vehicle back into the dealer and guess what, it rebooted the touch screen/radio and everything has worked fine for a month or about 1500 miles. Pulled the fuse again and results were as before, the touch screen/radio rebooted and is working ok again. The problem probably was in the touch screen from the beginning and not the radio. Since it takes 5 minutes to take out and put back the fuse I am not going back to the dealer. I will keep it a year and trade for a new one. I enjoy the truck but can't enjoy paying for it and can't use it while it sits in the dealer shop with no definite permanent fix. I think there is a major problem with how the touch screens are manufactured. I haven't heard anything from the dealer or truck manufacturer that a solution has been found. Is GM even looking into a fix?

The radio touch screen doesn't always work. When starting up the truck in the morning (or after truck has been sitting for extended period of time) I always touch the screen to see if I can change the radio station. And if it don't I turn off the truck and wait a min and start it up again. sometimes this fixes it not always.

I have videos and will post them.

I always connect the phone to the vehicle before driving, often I have had to sit and listen to ringing because the phone won't connect to the phone call I receive and then won't disconnect. and constantly rings, How can I disconnect without shutting off the vehicle while sitting in traffic.

Another problem is the screen goes completely black, have sound but no screen.

I have been told to bring the truck into the service dept when this happens but how convenient that they are not open when this occurs.

touch screen malfunction

I only had the truck three weeks and this happens. Went to the store and when I started the truck to leave the screen immediately scrambled. Turned the truck off and back on but did not fix. Finally after 20 minutes it reset itself. Has not happened since, and did not contact dealership.
