Service Update. Certain vehicles may incorrectly report to test tools an active permanent status of Transmission Control Module (TCM) Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P2781 (Downshift Switch Circuit High). This could cause the vehicle to not pass an emissions inspection test in jurisdictions that check the permanent status of DTCs as part of an emissions testing program.
Reprogram the TCM with updated software.
