I was out driving and I noticed that the passenger Side Blind Zone Alert kept coming on even though there was nothing there. After about twenty minutes I had "Service Side Detection System" come up on the dashboard. When I took the car out again later, the message came up as soon as I turned on the car, and this time the senors were not working at all on both sides (there were cars in my blind spots). I pulled over turned the car off and then on. Now the passenger side was staying lit-up again. This time it would go bright and then dim (it should never go dim). Then I turned the car off and it stayed lit-up even though the car was off!

But, I have not even mentioned the annoying part yet! So in December of 2014 I got the "Service Side Detection System", they replaced the sensor module part number 22971842. It fixed the problem for one month! Then the passenger side was staying lit-up. So what did the do, they put in another 22971842 again replacing that one month old part! So now in February 2017, guess what the fix is again for this problem! You guessed it that pesky 22971842 module again. Only this time since the car is not under warranty it is going to cost $621 CAD.

I have only put 15000 km (9300 miles), since the part was changed two years ago. This will be the forth time this part has been put in (Factory install, Dec '14, Jan '15 and now). Luckily I was able to talk them down to $300 CAD for the repair. I also contacted GM and they are going to look into it, and call me back in a couple of days. The rep basically, in a matter of speaking said that there is probably not much they can do, since the part is over a year old.
