The grinding noise in the car occurred at around the 50k mile mark. We took it into the dealer who said that they found metal in the transfer case. They tried flushing it out but said that would not fix the problem. In looking at other issues with the Chevy equinox this is a common problem. They also mentioned that their will most likely be issues with the transmission. The total cost to get it back and running of $3,000 was only the tip of the costs. Looking at a new vehicle and it will not be in the Chevy family.
