A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

This is the 2nd total breakdown. The 1st one, BOMNIN DADELAND CHEVROLET had my car for 4 full months. I got it back February 2020.

I purchased this car for my retirement. To have new, comfortable, reliable transportation. It is anything but.

My check engine light came on in May (no issues with performance) so I called and was asked to leave it so they could check it but that ALL LOANERS HAVE BEEN DISCONTINUED. I explained that 'this was a very bad time' and had to work some things out 1st. Oddly, the light went out.

Then in September, the check engine light came back on (still no issues with performance) and on September 5, I was on my way to visit my son in Jupiter, FL when, without warning, the car powered down to a stop on the shoulder of the Florida Turnpike (only 4 miles from my exit). It initially wouldn't restart until the State Farm Road Ranger got to me (AAA never showed up) about an hour later and it started. No issues driving after that. My son caught up behind me to go to a service station and put DEF fluid in. Only warning was that I was down to 117 miles but that would only limit the car to 65 mph. I stayed overnight and drove it in the morning to test, without performance problems. When I tried to go home, it wouldn't start and hasn't since. I had the car towed over 80 miles back to Bomnin. It took them over 3 days to even look at it. They don't know what's wrong with it but 'think' its the Fuel Pump. The part isn't in stock AND not available at any location in the US. It's on backorder. I'm again looking at months till I get my (UNRELIABLE) car back.

The biggest problems is NO LOANER CARS! The reason I said May was a 'very bad time' was b/c I'd just rec'd a Cancer diagnosis and didn't know what I would be up against. After having surgery this summer, I've just started Radiation Treatments EVERY DAY. I live alone, now without transportation. My Extended Warranty covers 5 days rental, up to $35. a day. I tried for last week but it would've still cost me over $100 for that week. I combined all my errands 1 day, it cost me over $50 for Lyfe and that's with WALKING between venues AND WALKING TO AND FROM MY CANCER TREATMENTS. The indifference shown by the Service Department is unconscionable. I'm told 'NO Chevrolet Service in the country has Loaners anymore'. They need to make that Public. Sounds like a 'Deal Breaker' for anyone buying a new car.

Update from Feb 22, 2022: During this 2 month repair, I asked for Chevy to buy back my car as I would be afraid to drive it anymore and I needed to buy a car. They only offered a grossly under market price trade-in value for a new truck.

That said, when it took 3 days for them to even look at my car ( knowing I had just started cancer treatments ), I ordered a Tesla online, b4 the end of the week. I was able to successfully walk to and from 25 treatments ( thank God ) and had my Tesla delivered to me December 22. Tesla gave me more than $5.K more than Chevy offered for trade-in. SHAME ON CHEVROLET.
