GM knows about ongoing PMD heat failure but won't cover under extended injector pump warranty (120,000 mls 11 yrs) until unit fails or locks in trouble codes. According to all Mechanics on net that I have researched, PMD failure won't lock any codes, but will only get worse. Eventually injector pump will fail, only matter of time. Seems vary odd that problem is known and listed on just about all mechanic forums but 2 Chevy dealerships with diesel mechanics and GM customer service claim no knowledge of PMD problems causing stalling at speed. It is a real thrill to have your engine shut off at 60 mph. Pull over and restart after few min like nothing wrong. May run an hour, less or couple days. Takes longer to restart each time.
