The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Express. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled several times and the check engine indicator illuminated. The vehicle was excluded from NHTSA campaign number: 14V614000 (electrical system); however, the vehicle exhibited the same failure as the recall campaign. Hawthorne Chevrolet (1180 goffle rd, hawthorne, NJ 07506, (973) 453-2564) was contacted and did not assist. The vehicle was not scheduled for a repair appointment. An independent certified mechanic diagnosed that there was an electrical short due to contamination on the chassis electronic control module. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure, indicated that the vehicle was excluded from manufacturer recall number: 14515, and provided no assistance. The approximate failure mileage was 160,000.

The contact owns a 2009 Chevrolet Express 3500. The contact stated that the key failed to turn in the ignition in order to start the vehicle and the key could be removed from the ignition while the vehicle was turned on. This failure occurred intermittently for several years. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who stated a new key was needed to repair the failure. The vehicle was repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the defect. The approximate failure mileage was 110,000.

2009 Chevy express van G2500 the defrost blower fan stopped working on any setting. I had to stop the vehicle until I could see out the wind shield. Very dangerous. Only 37,404 miles on this Chevy Express 2500 van! I live in the san francisco bay area and a wind shield defrost is a must!! we have fog and temps in the area and weather conditions can change rapidly.
