Changing to heavier and slotted rotors has completely fixed the problem. We had since driven another 25,000 miles and the brakes have practically no wear. With the original rotors, the brakes wore through completely in only 24,000 miles and normally we get at least 90,000 miles to a set of brakes.

We've had no other problems with our HHR and we really love this little car now!!

I have had the car since 2008 and I have had to replace the rotor 4 times. I am now heading back to the garage where it will have to be fixed again. There is a serious problem for a car to wear out that many rotors. They warp. The first time GM turned them. That didn't do much. I went to the local Goodyear dealer for what I thought was brake pads and it turned out the rotors were warped again. That was a expense. Then within 8 months they went bad and were replaced for free, but I paid for labor. Then again, and now four a record fifth time, the brakes are shaking me out of the care when I slow down.

GM FIX THIS!!! It can't be safe, if nothing else it is annoying as for such a nice car. GM needs to solve and stand behind their product. I guess Ford is my only hope, sure not going to be Toyota. GM you lost me. Telling me this is my problem is a sad state on obvious shoddy workmanship. FIX!!!!!! FIX !!!!!!!! FIX!!!!!!! FIX!!!!!!!!!!!
