The Monte Carlo is my son's car..about month ago the brake lights stopped working, we took it to the repair shop and they told us it was the brake switch. That fixed the problem. Then 2 weeks later the ABS light came on. We ignored it because the brakes still worked just fine. A month later the brake light came on, we checked the brake fluid it was low so we added fluid. The lights went off...3 weeks later the back brake lights stopped working again. We went back to the shop and they replaced the same switch the problem was fixed again...today on his way to work the low trac light, the ABS light and the brake lights came on and it pouring down rain. My son made it to work but I'm scared as hell for my son to drive the car home when he gets off work....my son just had a new engine put in the car....I tried to get him to buy a newer car instead of putting all that money in such an old car...but he didn't want a car payment....I commend my son for not wanting a car payment....but his Monte Carlo is a little too dangerous for me...It's a pretty car but my son's life is more valuable to me then a damn car.
