I have to turn the car into the on position and wait 11 minutes until the security stops blinking then turn off for 30 seconds then it will start. Sucks when it's cold outside.

Monte Carlo SS 3.8L

It took the Chevy service people 2 days to figure out what was wrong. I do have much faith in there ability to fix cars anymore.

problem #2

Monte Carlo SS

  • Automatic transmission
  • 105,000 miles

After about 7 to 8 months of this problem with my car having it's own mind and wanting to start when it was ready and not when I needed it all the time I finally found a Chey shop with a little more knowledge and tried several things until they finally got it to start and run all the time. No problem there now. But now my problem I'm having is the temperature gauge quit working and the bright switch has a mind of it's own and my check engine light won't go away. I called the Chevy shop and they said it would be about $500 to replace another computer chip. I'm really thinking about trading it off but I really love my Monte.

On anothe note: My husband has a 2007 GMC Sierra and right after the warranty ran out we started having problems with the heater (not a problem to have when in Wyoming in the winter time).
