the car was bought in 2008. She was a 2003 Monte Carlo SS. The following spans 2008- 2017. One day there was a loud repetitive banging from the engine upon starting. Turn it off, turn it back on , no noise.:) For a couple days. After a big BANG oil started spewing out of the right passenger wheel well.:( The shop said my oil filter gasket was dirty, and had blown off off. I had recently had an oil change. Got another oil change, all filled up and ready to go. A short period of time went by, quite a few kilometers. Went in for an oil change. Lo and behold, the oil filter was expanded and getting ready to blow again!!!!!! Lengthy diagnostic; oil pressure relief valve needed to be replaced. Now for the windshield wiper washer motor woes. Long story short, had a bypass button installed at the dealership. Next major problem, loss of heat. Paid to have the ignition switch replaced after the recall of a key did not resolve the issue. Two recalls while I owned 'er, a "beauty" cover, and a key. Finally lost my chariot in a fire while I was driving. Originated under the dash.
