This data is from the NHTSA — the US gov't agency tasked with vehicle safety. Complaints are spread across multiple & redundant categories, & are not organized by problem.
So how do you find out what problems are occurring? For this NHTSA complaint data, the only way is to read through the comments below. Any duplicates or errors? It's not us.
I had been noticing my brakes felt soft I called the dealer, and they said there were no problems, then last week my wife was driving it and the brakes failed and she was in a bad wreck and the air bags did not deploy.
In 1999 I was involved in a wreck where the anti lock breaks would not stop my truck until just last week there had not been a recall for same now there is one and I have had my truck repaired at the dealership; my question is; is there any recorse to make General Motors pay for the accident verses my having paid the $1000 deductable and my insurance company paying the rest/ plus my rates are higher for the next 18 months.
Windshield wipers are intermittent, it was taken to the dealership and verified, however, this VIN was not included in the recall for the 95 Chevrolet Blazer 2. antilock brakes were also inspected and found to be defective by dealership, but again the VIN for this vehicle was not included in the recall for the anti-lock brakes for 95 Chevrolet Blazer. 3. passenger side rear view mirror has cracked and broke off two times. The cracks are originating on the underside of the mirror support. After speaking with the dealership, they indicated to have the same problem with their parts vehicle which is also a 95 Chevrolet Blazer, and I have talked with two other people who own Blazer who had the same defect. I have also tried to locate a used mirror in junk yards, in altus ok, lubbock, tx, and valdosta ga. None of the junk yards had any, they had the vehicles but the mirrors had already been bought. They second mirror I installed broke off and was dangling by the wires while driving down the interstate at 70mph nearly causing an accident, and not to mention it made it difficult to see drivers on the passenger side of the vehicle while changing lanes.

The brakes are very spongy when applied at all times. There is an extended stopping distance which several extra car lengths has to be allowed for in order to stop without a collision. The two near misses I had was I had to leave the road and go to the shoulder in order to keep from having an accident. I also have a 1998 Chevrolet astro van and the brakes on it is 100% better. I am real happy with its stopping distance.
Brakes fail. Pedal goes soft and must be pumped for response. Occurs at low speeds (-20mph) and mostly after vehicle has been idle, I.e. first time it is operated in the morning.
Brakes are very squeaky, and when you first drive it, it won't stop. Midas said to contact you. I have had several brakes put on it. I am scared to let anyone else to drive it. Because sometime when you stop it will stop very hard and someone could get injured. I would just like info. If there is any recalls on it. Thank you for your time..
ABS failed while vehicle was traveling at 65 mph. Driver tapped brakes lightly to deactivate cruise control (had begun to rain heavily); vehicle immediately began skidding and a second attempt to brake failed, there were no brakes at all. The windshield wipers also quit working just before crash (an intermittent problem for past year.)
