EA94038, ABS braking system failure; when applying the brakes during emergency stopping situation, the truck shutters like it's hitting ice then dry pavement. When applying the brakes a second time, the pedal goes completely to the floor and a strange noise comes from the dash. In the last two weeks the brake booster has been replaced twice by the dealership under warranty.
While driving at 60 mph the consumer went to apply the brakes to slow down, the vehicle started at the same speed. The consumer contacted the dealer, the vehicle has been in the shop for repairs four times. The dealer can't determine the nature of the problem.
In panic stops, the braking system will "coast about 20 feet" then the braking system will not function. Dealer cannot determine the problem. Faulty braking system caused extended stopping distance which resulted in an accident.
When the brakes are applied the pedal goes to the floor, resulting in extended stopping distance. The dealer has replaced the calipers and the pads on the left front brakes. The dealer has been notified.
When applying the ABS brakes on wet or dry pavement the pedal will travel to the floor, causing extended stopping distance. Dealer replaced the rotors and pads on three occasions which did not remdey the problem.
ABS brake problems; while driving on normal road conditions, during normal braking, driver applied the brakes and the truck would not stop normally, driver had to keep pumping the brake pedal in order to get truck to stop. Dealer not able to locate problem with truck.
