Intermittently when the brakes are applied the pedal becomes mushy, resulting in extended stopping distance. Dealer has inspected vehicle several times.
Ea 94 038/ABS braking system: Vehicle experiencing problem with ABS system. Whenever brakes are applied on rough surface or bumps wheels lockup. Vehicle had been inspected by dealer on two occasions, and informed consumerthat nothing could be found. Also, when backing up, makes noise, sprong, sprong, and sprong as plunking on a banjo, like a spring letting go.
Anti-lock brakes not stopping vehicle while in 2 wheel drive, slids 20 feet through intersection while going 25 mph, no accident, no fatalities, no brakes either.
While driving in snow/ice/ in cold weather & had applied (ABS) brakes, vehicle failed to stop. Pedal went to floor. Nearly had an accident with fire truck. Vehicle towed to dealer. Mechanic informed owner no problem with ABS brakes after being told tow truck driver.
The brakes 'grab' (lock up) on occasion (in damp or wet weather), and one time almost failed completely (I was turning a corner or there would have been an accident).
Ongoing erratic operation of brake system; front brake pads have been replaced on three different occasions. Also, front left brake rotors were replaced once within 10,000-11,000 miles of wear. Seeking help from NHTSA in this matter.
Brakes fail on left turns. Left turns into parking spaces. Left turn while braking. Brakes go to the floor and the stopping distance is extended. This happens more often if the ground is wet or smooth surface. This also happend when trying to avoid head-on tc with person who ran red light. This was also a move to the left. I have taken this vehicle into the service department several times. Dealer cannot re-create the problem. It occurs when you don't expect it. Very dangerous.
During a panic stop at 5-10 mph brakes failed to stop. Twice the pickup was taken to the shop for repair and nothing was found. This only occurs during a panic stop.
EA94038, ABS braking system malfunctioned, brake pedal went to the floor, causing extended stopping distance which resulted in a crash. Also, dealer replaced master cylinder.
When brakes were applied on wet pavement the pedal went to the floor, resulting in extended stopping distance. The dealer and manufacturer have been notified.
Consumer was driving vehicle on street at approximately 35 mph, normal road conditions. Consumer was moving into left turning lane, applying brakes to slow down, brake pedal went down floor, causing vehicle to slow down, but not to stop. Dealer notified, and informed consumer that nothing could be found.
While driving at 50 mph on wet and icy pavement, vehicle slid across the road, causing the front of the vehicle to hit the guardrail. The other part of vehicle hit the wall, and driver's side air bag didn't deploy.
ABS brake problems; after dealer replaced the brakes pads because of wear, owner started experiencing brake problems, such as the truck pulling to the right or left side under normal braking conditions. The dealer is not able to correct the problem with the brakes.
While driving on wet pavement and whenever applying brakes, brakes won't stop vehicle. Also, back brakes were skipping, and brakes pads and the fan clutch went out.
