Tailgate dropped as my son was unloading items from the back just missing his foot. He had to have help putting tailgate back on and drove home. We later received the recall and had it fixed. He was lucky.

GM dealer would not honor their 'recall' letter since the original broken cables had already been replaced. Purchased new cables from parts store.

Both cables broke, The tailgate fell to the bumper
