S-10 Pickup EXT CAB 4.3L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 116,000 miles

First driveshaft failed at 60,000, second one at 116,000. There is a problem with the driveshaft being misaligned. Bought an alignment kit online. The problem is so prevalent, that the Driveshafts Unlimited store in St. Louis is now offering an aftermarket shaft that eliminates the double cardan U-joint. If you have the original rebuilt, it's cheaper but you'll need the alignment kit sold by http://www.stealthconversions.com or it will fail again at 30k to 60k. It's like the 3rd door handle. Junk and something Chevy should have recalled. Instead they just ended the model and started selling the Colorado.
