The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving 75 mph, the steering wheel seized and all the warning indicators illuminated on the instrument panel. The contact coasted the vehicle over to the side of the road and powered off the engine. The vehicle was restarted and was able to drive normally; however, the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to autonation Chevrolet North (located at 7320 N broadway, denver, co 80221, (720) 836-7087) where it was diagnosed, but a failure code could not be located. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified and did not assist. The approximate failure mileage was 50,000.
While slowing down to make a turn, usually always using turn signal, my truck will completely shut down in the middle of the intersection with no warning. The engine shuts down and all electrical is lost. Luckily I haven't been hit by another vehicle while trying to restart my truck in the middle of the intersection. After I get truck started there are numerous error codes in the display: Open and close drivers side window, stabilatrak, steering wheel assist, stabilatrak reduce speed B/C of steering assist, 2 keys programmed. Also while traveling at high rate of speed (70-80 mph) on highway the stabilatrak error would appear when I put turn signal on to change lanes but truck has not yet shut down under that condition. I have taken my truck to 2 different Chevrolet dealers for this dangerous problem but they have not been able to find the problem. The last time the truck shut down on me was 9-19-2018 and the truck did not start right away and my 4-way flashers did not work while I was stranded in the intersection.
Product safety recall 17276 loss of steering assist -- my truck is not involved in this recall, but I am having the exact issues described in the recall, sudden loss and return of eps assist. This happens at low speeds when turning or backing, both forward and reverse motions. I am also having issues with the cruise control shutting off intermittently when activating the turn indicator to change lanes. I understand that this may be related to this recall, as the electrical software issues can cause other electrical systems to become temporarily disabled, such as the radio, stabilitrack, dic, chimes, door-lock cycling, air conditioning, or cruise control. Also, when the turn indicator is activated and the cruise control shuts off, the dash lights also flicker. I have already had this truck in to the dealer once to fix this, and they refused to run the recall because my truck was not in the recall group. Instead they charged me over $1,000 to replace a steering wheel position sensor, which I now doubt was the problem since the issues with loss of steering and disabling of cruise control have returned. I just want this fixed.
Driving truck, slow speed, stabil track warning, power assisit warning, dash lights go out, mass electrical failure in all other dash systems. Head lights blink with random. I traced issue to a bad ground connection in the dash. Sound reduction material was pinched under ground stud connection causing high resistance connection. This is a dangerous issue it will effect control of the vehicle when it fails. It is a assembly issue on the production line and all vehicles need to be recalled for inspection of this issue.
Vehicle has loss of steering, stabilitrac and electrical and engine failure momentarily under 1000 RPM. Not an everyday problem, but is becoming more frequent and had recall for steering control done

While driving vehicle while turn itself off with no explanation. This has happened multiple times in the last few months. It has increased since I got the last recall done. This is extremely dangerous as it has shut off while I was turning across lanes and died in the middle of the intersection. The truck shuts completely off and has to be restated by turning the key.
Vehicle wont start, battery is fine, and electrical system went haywire, says to service each system seperately when trying to start. All passenger doors stopped locking and unlocking with key fobs and with door buttons as well. Completely stranded without a vehicle. The vehicle was stationary, fortunantly.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. While driving approximately 20 mph, the power steering assist warning indicator illuminated, the instrument panel became dark, and the steering wheel was difficult to turn. The steering wheel returned to normal on its own after a few minutes. The failures were experienced several times. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and provided the contact with case number: 8-45-0947295. The manufacturer stated that the vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 17V414000 (steering). The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The failure mileage was 49,000.
My Silverado frequently "shuts off" when I am making turns. This is extremely dangerous - the latest time I was pulling out into traffic and the engine and all electrical parts turn off. I was nearly hit by another vehicle. There was a recall for this exact issue and my local Chevrolet dealer said they have "fixed it". I keep bringing the truck back to them, but they won't attempt to fix it again citing lemon laws because they can't get the truck to replicate the issue. I am beyond frustrated and at this point concerned about the safety of my children and myself as I drive.
Loss of electrical power to the vehicle while at slow speed. Truck shows multiple warnings, I.e. stablitrak, reduce steering, window, etc. Temporary loss of steering while driving; wheel tightens up and/or jerks hard. Veh engine remains on during most occurrences but other times, engine shuts down completely. Cause; 218 ground wire becomes loose and nut comes completely off post (see pics). Solution: Reinstall 218 ground wire to post.
At low speeds such as in parking lots, especially after reversing or turning the vehicle will occasionally experience the following issue: Display will say that stabilitrack is on, advise that power steering is reduced. The air conditioning, radio and other electric systems will then shut off. Power steering is cut off along with brake pressure. On multiple occasions the engine has also shut off requiring the vehicle to be put into park or neutral to restart the engine. If this occurred on the highway it would certainly cause a major incident.
While driving down the highway with ac on, when I attempt to use additional electronics (radio, blinker to change lanes, cruise control, brakes (brake lights), the electronics flicker, stability all resets, cruise control will shut off and the entire electronic system almost shuts off.
Vehicle loses power steering during turns at low speeds and will also turn vehicle off. If vehicle does not turn off, vehicle will display "redused power steering assist" and a stabilitrak warning. If vehicle turns off, vehicle will not turn on right away and dashboard display will not turn on when key is in the on position. After attempts to turn vehicle on, the smell of burning wires is smelled in the cab with no obvious electrical fire.
I was driving on the interstate at about 50mph when a stabilitrak message came up. After it came up the vehicle completely shut down for a couple seconds. I lost all steering and braking during this time as if the ignition was turned off. This happened a couple of times. When I got to my destination the vehicle completely shut down before I could put it into park and turn the ignition off. It is extremely concerning that the vehicle was doing this while driving at highway speeds.
Numerous occasions this vehicle will have issues when turning? on 5 different occasions this vehicle while in motion on a highway will suddenly turn off completely on its own and then suddenly turn back on after I release the steering wheel. This has happened while driving 75mph on hwy I-35 while I was changing lanes.
Truck shut off at low speed & want turn all most reck mash button on steering wheel and it cuts off motor & steering & stereo & ac I'm kind of scary about driving
At slow speeds (mostly when turning) power steering will go out. I've had 3 instances where the truck completely shut off and just as many where it felt like it was about to shut off. Other symptoms have been while driving on highway, generally on a longer trip, warnings about stabiltrack needing service come on, my lane departure sensor will automatically switch from vibrate to audible beep, dimming my headlights or turning my turn signal on will cancel cruise control. I had the recall for software fix for power steering issues applied in September 2017 where previously I experienced none of these issues. All of these issues have been after the recall software fix was applied. The dealer says it's due to a film that builds up on the battery cable connection and causes it to not have a good connection with the battery. Apparently there is a bulletin out for this issue but it isn't a recall so dealers are charging around $700 to fix this. Having your truck turn off while driving is a clear safety issue and one that is much worse than the recall for having your power steering go out when turning at slow speeds.
The contact owns a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that the vehicle stalled several times without warning. The contact took the vehicle to several dealers including ourisman Chevrolet of bowie (16610 governor bridge rd, bowie, md 20716, (301) 262-7600), jack winegardner Chevrolet (11001 indian head hwy, fort Washington, md 20744), and ourisman Chevrolet of rockville (807 rockville pike, rockville, md 20852, (301) 637-6496), but the failure could not be replicated and diagnosed. The contact was uncertain if the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 14V614000 (electrical system) pertaining to the battery being drained and potential contamination of the chassis electronic module. The three dealers had not test driven the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified. The contact was waiting on a response to determine if they could provide a permanent remedy. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 90,000.
