Sudden loss of power in vehicle, causing loss of power steering for a split second and display screens to turn off and on. Service trailer brake and steering assist lights came on. Has happened multiple times and always on highway. Power steering also malfunctions when parking.
My power steering will not work, I cannot turn the wheel whatsoever. The first time it happened, I had to pay through insurance to have it fixed. 2 years later, it-€™s happening again. In both incidences, I parked my truck overnight and when I went to drive it the next day, a message came on saying power steering assist reduced. I know there is a recall for this problem. Yet the dealership tells me the steering gear needs replaced. The problem now is that there isn-€™t a part available.
Rack and pinion went out, truck makes a popping noise when turning steering left and right. Also when going over bumps can hear the gears rattling from hitting each other.

At very slow speed (under 1 mph) the steering is unmanageable to turn, even if truck stopped and its required to make a relatively sharp turn. Seems the power steering stops working & airbag warning light turns on as well as parking assist stops working. Very dangerous!! Also when the temperature is under 30°F the dash/ display screen go black when I attempt to use the side window switches
My truck loss of electric power steering it shuts off especially during low speed turning maneuvers. Lost and then returns then might lose temporary control of the steering wheel, increasing the risk of a crash. I have made an appointment at my dealership.
While driving today, the power steering stopped working while trying to turn at the traffic light. I had to go straight and park the truck on the side of the street. The warning light came on while this happened, stating -€œsteering assist is reduced, drive with care-€. Taking to dealership tomorrow morning.

I have a 21014 Chevy K1500 Silverado ([XXX]). In 2019 the vehicle started having issues: Steering system started -€œfighting-€ me. When at very low speeds (trying to navigate slow turns as in a parking lot or stopped and starting a turn) the steering system would go back the opposite direction so hard that it would almost pull a muscle in my arm, seemingly wanting to go back to top dead center. Other symptoms of the situation include hot temperatures (90+), Radio on, Air Cond. on, Low speed or stopped, voltage seems low. This had happened many many times to me, to the point that one; I could predict when it would happen, such as making a left turn across traffic at an intersection or parking lot, and two; I would not let anyone else drive the vehicle, because it was a safety issue. I have a video of the issue as I was backing into my garage. Could drive to the store and after a short period in the store attempt to start the vehicle, but the truck acted like it was dead. I would remove the positive cable from the battery for about 10 seconds and put it back and the truck would start. Symptoms of the situation: hot temperatures (90+). This happened several times. I took the truck to Hubler Chevrolet, who told me that a power cable from the battery was defective, but could not tell me what was wrong with it. I declined the work and took it to another mechanic that found that other similar issues have been solved by ensuring that the vehicle is properly grounded to the frame. This solved the issue. Now it is 2021 and I am now losing power steering at low speed turns (parking lot maneuvers, or backing up into my driveway). Temperatures are not a symptom of the issue as it is too late in the year and temps are not that high. The head lights are also blinking when applying the brakes. The electronic control steering module message was displayed. The contact stated that while driving approximately 25 MPH, the steering wheel seized while turning left and right. The vehicle was taken to the local dealer where the contact was informed that the electronic control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The steering locks up completely when driving. This could cause a major and even fatal crash. The steering locks up without any warning then the message appears to service power steering. My wife a d child we-€™re in the truck when this happened randomly. They are extremely lucky they were not hit by anyone.
I was driving and my truck just lost all power and my steering wheel locked up as I was turning. Lights turned off. This lasted for about 3 to 5 seconds. Then it turned back on. Then later in the day it happened in a drive through as I was leaving except it would not start back up. This should not be happening especially for a truck with only 53000 miles.
My vehicle started displaying a stabilitrak warning, gauge lights dimming, hard steering, and the ac turning off when I would push the brake pedal while driving. 15 miles later, while making a left hand turn, my vehicle shut off completely which caused a loss of power steering. I was able to avoid an accident as the vehicle did restart. Prior to this incident, I have taken the vehicle in twice to Chevrolet dealerships to diagnose this issue. Both times they stated they could not duplicate the issue so nothing was done. This seems to be a common issue for many 2014 Chevrolet Silverado owners.
Electronic power steering suddenly fails as low speeds, low speed turning, and backing up. Often occurs after dash lights flicker and stabilitrak warning comes up on dash monitor. Causes dangerous situations in parking lots trying to navigate around other cars. This is the second occurrence since purchasing the vehicle. I had it fixed once through a software fix. The problem has returned a year and a half later.
The vehicle has experienced dash and screen flickering while driving. When stopped and making turns the engine shuts off and the steering is locked. The whole dash goes blank. The engine is not able to restart or click. Anit-theft warning comes on for no reason. I feel there is a safety issue when driving this vehicle but no recalls have been placed. I don't feel safe driving my babies in the car.
Vehicle losses electric power steering specially at low speeds tends to jump to the right side or locks the steering wheel possibly accident if it continues. There are recalls on most trucks like mine but it seems that my truck is not in the list and it should be this is a real safety issue I believe that I report it to you before.
