I have had this happened randomly for a few weeks now. When I try to steer the truck, my dash lights, and radio go out. The steering wheel violently jerks out of my hand and locks up solid losing ALL steering control. The “Service Stabilitrak” comes on. Then next message “ Steering Assist is Reduced Drive with Care” I can't replicate the problem when I want to, It just happens without warning. I found a link on youtube from a guy whose dealer found some bad grounds on a few of the control modules.

Here it is:

This a very dangerous problem. I am considering having it towed to the dealer because it's frightening.

Update from Oct 3, 2016: I took the truck to my dealer. They were familiar with this problem- They had received a service bulletin and a corrective action was performed. They cleaned and tightened 3 ground connections one of which was G218, the ground point for the Body computer and Engine computer. So far, the problem has not happened since.

The Chevrolet Dealership at Fagan Automotive in Janesville, Wisconsin sold me this vehicle new, knowing that Chevrolet was already having vibration issues with these new 2014 Silverados. I am angry that they sold me a truck without warning of what they already knew about the issues with these trucks. Stay Away from the 2014 Silverados!!!!!

I have a shake at 70 mph, the seats and console shake horribly. I have had the tires road force balanced twice and it has not helped. I have a loaner 2014 Silverado while they are looking at my truck that shakes as bad as mine. It is incredible how poorly designed this is. I was told originally that it was due to the 20 inch rims. I have had 11 trucks with 20s and never have I had this problem. I have 7500 miles on my truck and it has not gotten any better. .
