No sound from radio or blinkers. My only concern is this feels like an electrical issue that will get worse. I can't get the problem to repeat, so fixing it is an issue. Just curious if others have the same problem.

Silverado 1500 LT 5.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 80,000 miles

Upon initial startup for the day the radio will play for about 10 seconds and just stop. AM, FM, XM is gone. Does not happen after subsequent starts. The screen went blank a couple times. Only solution I found is to turn off the vehicle completely for two minutes and then restart.

All audio stops working. The radio is on and the digital info is changing with the station. But there is no audio.. all the warning sounds and the directional sound are not present. I first thought it was only when I auto started it, but then it even happened when I would manually start it, it would happen. Sometimes able to fix it with turning off the truck and back on, other times I would have to drive it for awhile and shut it off for about 10 minuets. Two times on my hour drive home I would hit a bump or pothole it would just randomly shut off. As well as the back tail light was corroded pretty bad and was unable to just switch out the socket. If it has happened to other people, it is a dealership problem. Not making me buy a whole unit to replace....
