My Silverado has already had the software upgrade related to the previous vacuum pump/brake recall (N192268490). It initially helped, but now the brake pedal is again extremely hard to press at slow speeds, such as in traffic. You need to almost stand on it to stop. It appears that the deterioration is back where it was before the software "fix." I will be taking to the dealership this week and requesting a replacement of the vacuum pump under warranty or recall. I am beyond regular powertrain warranty at this point, but brakes seem like they should work past 80K.

My radiator is leaking with only 48000 miles on it. There has been a recall on the model years prior to and after mine, for the same problem. A radiator should not have cracks caused from a thermostat problem in this short amount of miles. It is a slow leak and I am going to have to replace the radiator before it causes other problems or gets worse.

With only 79,600 miles the engine began misfiring. We took it to 2 independent mechanics and were told the lifters needed to be replaced causing $5600 in repairs. We were followed all the recommended oil changes and maintenance. After investigating it we discovered this engine failure was known to GMC as it has effected several other GMC truck engines manufactured between 2011 and 2014.

I have about 85000 miles on my car, I was driving to work and the engine light came up. The code for the engine light came up as P06da which most likely indicates a problem with the engine oil control solenoid (based on most of the videos and reviews on the internet). Unfortunately, GM never made a recall about this!! this problem costs about 3K to fix at the dealer.

My truck had an afm collapsed lifter failure. It occurred under a hard acceleration event to change lanes. The dealer replaced the lifter, returning the vehicle to me. I got down the road, tested it under hard acceleration and it happened again! this time there was a lot of internal engine noise, really loud. I asked the dealer if they ntested it under a hard acceleration; they did not. They replaced the #6 piston and the valves associated with the #6 piston. All work performed was done on #6, even the initial collapsed lifter. I picked it up again and again a hard acceleration produced misfires! I had it towed it back to the dealer and asked them if they had tested it with hard acceleration. The response was @ 3300 RPM. I told the service writer that, if you do not test it under hard acceleration you will not even have it misfire! he redid the test and voila, he can see it now! technical resources told them to replace vlom, or "valve lifter oil manifold". I got it back and it does work, more or less. A hard acceleration will produce uneven acceleration but without the previous issues. I am working for now. I conducted some further research which I am probe to do and found an acdelco youtube video: Https://www.youtube.com/watch?V=mkly7xmmsos&feature=youtu.be&fbclid=iwar2zvzpvj6Z6E3seljzgvxzeru8ptllkgpkqtfxmrsns7oqencolhrrgi_I. This video states that if you have an afm levent that involves a collapsed lifter you must replace a plethora of parts. That was not done. I have changed my oil on a more frequent basis than GM requires and I use amsoil signature series10W20, the best you can buy! I also use their EA0 filters which state you can go up to 25K miles or 1 year between changes! I typically do 10K miles as a high point. I have swicthed preferred dealers to get a different technical response...help!

I was on a family trip with my wife and kids and the engine temperature raised and system said to idle engine until it cooled down. I was able to cool the engine down and get the truck home. The Chevrolet dealer diagnosed a coolant leak at the radiator. Service bulletin pi1513F refers to this as being caused by a faulty thermostat which results in fractures in the radiator. "this condition may be the result of excessive thermocycles within the cooling system caused by excessive cycling of the thermostat. These excessive thermocycles within the coolant system may cause the tubes to fatigue, crack and leak at the radiator headers. To correct this condition, a new thermostat has been designed that eliminates the thermostats excessive cycling." The quoted cost to replace the radiator and thermostat at the dealer is $1800 GM has apparently extended the warranty to 100000 miles under a special coverage adjustment on the 2014 models, but not the other affected model years.

Often, when making low speed turns the entire engine and electrical system shuts off. There is no power steering when this happens and it's difficult and dangerous to try to coast to a safe spot to try to restart the vehicle. Generally, it starts back up again within a few minutes. In the three years that we've owned the vehicle, it has been to two different Chevy dealerships more than once and both dealerships say there's no problem. It's frustrating that it seems to be a common issue yet there's no answer to the problem and no recall.

This is a follow up from complaint #11228752 regarding the ac issues on Chevy &GMC pickups from 2014 thru 2017 year models. From research I did 98% of the failures was the condenser which also includes the transmission oil cooler. My condenser failed on the drivers side first 3 tubes below the transmission oil cooler as did my friends 2016 Sierra and another friend's 2016 Texas edition Sierra. Same failure same location and between 60 & 75K. Repaired mine myself & my warranty paid me back for new condenser ($219) but not the freon or my labor. There's most definitely an issue on this part and saw no visible difference in the old/ new piece other than a 6'X 6' square of aluminum type flex pad in the upper left corner on driver's side. Similar to the 2018 models not affected by this problem.

Catalytic converter failed with less than 80,000 miles. The truck was taken to dealership, denooyer Chevrolet, from which it had been bought new and by which it had always been serviced to remedy the check engine light prior to 80,000 miles with authorization to perform any diagnostic and remediation covered under warranty. Dealer did not make repair and advised it would cost me hundreds of dollars to even find out what was wrong. I now have taken the truck to a separate shop for diagnosis and was told a catalytic converter has gone bad. However, I am now slightly at 89,000 miles. Dealer is saying warranty on catalytic converts expired at 80,000 miles. Front brake rotors warped within the first year of ownership. A/C cooling coil cracked under 80,000 miles as well due to a faulty part, and apparently that warranty expired at 30,000 miles.
