Truck lunges forward sometimes. It will work properly most of the time and then after stoping, when you tramp on the gas it will hesitate then lunge forward. As I said most of the time it works properly. I consider this a very real hazzard, has been doing this for months. One day at my golf club while pulling into my parking spot, a tight fit, I had to back up to get into my spot. When I tried to go forward it had about a two second hesitation then squealed the tires. I have witnesses. My dealer says everything with the truck is normal after they inspected it. The internet is full of the same thing from other owners of the same truck.
On September 11 at approx. 1630 hrs. my wife and I were going out for dinner. I stopped at a stop light on a hill. Transmission in Drive, foot on the brake. Our truck suddenly started rolling backward. I looked at the dash, no warning lights, gauges still working, transmission in drive, I stood on the brake pedal, no effect, I put the transmission in park, no effect, I engaged the parking brake, no effect other than the parking brake warning light came on. We had rolled back approximately 50 feet. I looked in my rearview mirror and observed a car approaching. Luckily he/she saw my problem and stopped. Things suddenly started coming back to life and came to a gentle stop. When I looked in my mirror I was so close to the car behind me all I could see was his windshield, no hood. I moved the transmission from park to drive and we continued on. I have contacted the dealer and they are attempting to determine what happened. However, I am afraid this will happen to someone else who may not be as lucky as I was or that it may happen to me again. I pull a 5th wheel trailer with this truck.
My truck has a vibration when going down the highway at speeds of 70 mph. The dealer has done a transmission flush but still have the same issue. I am afraid that the driveshaft or the transmission may lock up while we are on the highway with the family.
When backing out of the driveway and shifting from Reverse to drive the transmission slows the engine before slamming into second gear. During the entire driver the transmission shakes before shifting into any gear. I took it to Patriot Chevy in Warminster, Pa on 8/2/21. They said they reset the computer module. I tested it immediately and nothing changed.
When shifting from reverse to drive the transmission makes a hard slamming sound. It also shutters when driving 70 mph. The dealer told me it-??s normal.

I purchased this vehicle back on February and noted that the transmission is kicking hard from first to second gear shift at all times. Went to the dealer and told me tech cannot find nothing wrong and that this is normal as is a 9 shift transmission. When at a fast food full line this vehicle shifted so hard that I almost hit the car on front on me. Having cars all my life and be a mechanic, I can tell you this hard shifting is a safety issue.
The transmission will sometimes hesitate/lag for a few seconds when shifting from 1st gear to 2nd gear. This seems to occur only cold starts where the vehicle has sat for a long period, such as overnight. On the most recent occurrence, I was stopped at a stop sign on my road and began to turn left (northbound) on to the busy highway. While turning from the stop sign on to the highway, the vehicle vehicle hesitated mid-shift and I lost acceleration. After a few seconds, a loud clunk was then heard, the truck jerked - throwing me forward, and acceleration was restored. This delay resulted in a near-miss collision as there was an approaching vehicle headed southbound and I was stuck in their lane since my vehicle was not accelerating. Issue reported to Heartland Chevrolet (501 Rte 291, Liberty, MO 64068) to document and investigate the issue. Vehicle taken to dealer next day. After 3 days of service, the dealer service team could not reproduce the issue and escalated to regional GM engineer (Service Manager called him directly.). Engineer stated that hesitation is normal. Still an on-going issue; work around has been to let the vehicle idle longer before driving on a cold start. Sometimes you can "feel" the hesitation and know when to let off the gas pedal few a few seconds until the shift in to 2nd to avoid the vehicle throwing you forward, being able to have better "control" of the hesitation issue.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that at start-up and occasionally while driving at various speeds, the steering wheel ceased to operate as designed. Additionally, the vehicle occasionally failed to respond when shifted into drive however, the reverse gear worked as designed. The power steering assist warning light was illuminated. The contact recently noticed that the rear driver's side seat belt was not stitched properly. The seat belt strap loosened while attempting to secure his child in the seat belt. Mtn view Chevy (310 E 20th St, chattanooga, tn 37408) was made aware of the failures and informed the contact that the vehicle was over the warranty coverage and there were no recalls associated with the failures. The manufacturer was made aware of the failures and opened a case but informed the contact that recalls were VIN specific and the VIN was not included in any recalls associated with the failures. The manufacturer referred the contact to an authorized dealer to have the vehicle diagnosed. The approximate failure mileage was 44,000. Invalid VIN.
My transmission is shifting really hard particularly at slower speeds. When I begin to slow and then start to accelerate just a little bit it slams into gear at times causing the truck launch forward. I have had it back to the dealer no less then 4 times for the issue. They tell me the same thing every time. If we don't have a code or can't replicate it we can't fix it. From research I have done this seems to be a wide spread problem! I have real safety concerns. Specifically if it does one of these hard shifts while I am in traffic, I am afraid it will push me right into the back of the car in front of me.
I bought this truck new in 2019. I have had it back to the dealership numerous times. When you put the truck in reverse and then pull back into drive to take off the truck jerks you so hard that it even squeals the tires. I talked to another Chevrolet dealership in cookeville tn and they said they are aware or the issue and currently have 9 other trucks with the same complaints. There was another gut in that service department the same day also complaining about the same issue with his truck. Every time I take it back to the murfreesboro dealership they say they can not find the problem and they do not know of any issues which I find hard to believe. This issues has been present from the first day I purchased this truck
Truck will rev high and not move for 2 or 3 seconds when accelerating after stopping at redl lght then slam into first gear and lurch forward abruptly. The motor mounts are damaged from doing this over and over again. Engine has 44000 miles is serviced on time every time and not abused.
The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving 5 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed and the vehicle began to jerk backward and forward. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The vehicle was taken to jessup auto plaza (68111 E. palm canyon dr, cathedral city, ca 92234, (760) 989-4071) to be diagnosed. The contact was informed that an unspecified update needed to be performed. The vehicle was repaired however, the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 17,811.
Hard shift from 1st to 2nd and sometimes 2nd to 3rd causing the engine to rev high - city driving. When towing boat in tow or camper in tow mode, transmission will not switch gears when it should causing high rev - city and highway driving. Dealership has had it multiple times but find "nothing" wrong every time and then it shifts hard upon leaving the dealership. This happens frequently throughout the year regardless of the weather.
Driving truck and noticed a jerk when accelerating on 1st and 2nd gear causing the vehicle to have a delayed acceleration could cause accidents in traffic. Also when shifting from reverse to drive the truck jerks violently as if the transmission can't engage or dropped and has the delayed issue forementioned the main screen on the vehicle keeps cycling turns on and off repeatedly causing distraction and makes the vehicle computer system unusable
1.drivetrain issue: At the 1st. Start of the day, when shifting into D (drive gear) ; upon accelerating, the trucks transmission drops off between 1st and 2nd gear as if it were pausing for 1-2 seconds, then truck surges forward issue started the day I drove off the lot. Thought it was truck just working out a glitch, but has always persisted. 2. electrical issue: Power mirrors; when power mirrors are folding inward mirrors do not close at the same time, started the day I drove off the lot. As time has passed it now has become an even larger issue, the power motor in mirror runs continually after it has been open or closed as well as mirror tilting when in reverse. Very distracting. 3. collision censor: Issue started within last 90 days; I can be driving down the road/ highway at any time with no other obstacles in my area, nothing around my truck on any of the four sides, truck will sound warning alarm as well as the display in the dash. I make sure all censors are all clean of any dirt-ice-snow, very troubling when driving as it makes one think there is on coming obstacles.
I was driving at 65mph with cruise activated and I noticed a "shudder" and it lasted approximately 1 minute. 10 minutes later it happened once again. I was driving on I-40 and the road surface is level in the areas that I was driving. I purchased this truck new and it only has 11,000 miles on it. After searching causes of this issue online, I discovered that I was not alone and that numerous people have had the same issue on all models of GM cars and it is related to the 8 speed transmission. I have made an appointment to have the dealership where the truck was purchased to diagnose the issue.
This truck continues to slip out of gear when trying to accelerate. Yesterday, as I attempted to cross a road, the transmission was "hung up" between gears resulting in a very dangerous situation where I was unable to move until traffic came much closer. It started from a stop and when I tried to cross the road it was shuddering between gears. This continues to happen on this vehicle. Sometimes it's a hard shift, other times it slips out of gear and as I push the accelerator, the engine revs and it is not in a gear and it finally grinds into a gear and then there is a jolt when it slams into the gear and the truck lurches forward or sometimes it's enough to squeal the tires.
From reverse going into drive has delay shift and shifts and jerks real hard before going into drive. Its not all the time but have notice it on different times. Feels like rear end or trans is slipping
While taking off fist shift from 2nd to 3rd gear trans slips to the point of losing forward momentum for several seconds. Multiple times in shop and failed to duplicate problem. Happens daily.
