Silverado 1500 LT Trail Boss 5.3L

Bought 2019 LT Trail Boss new on 12/31/2019. Overall this is a good truck. Even new things break and fail. The dealership is fixing the issue under warranty. Just taking them 6 days to diagnose and replacing the transfer case control module (TCCM) -- no loaner vehicle available. This is my first New vehicle purchase for myself. First impression, I'm really questioning the "Most Dependable Truck" award and the OnStar service is reactive, diagnostic reporting and alerts in my case failed.

My core complaint is with the OnStar service. New vehicle sold with an issue (550 miles on odometer 26 hrs on engine). OnStar Diagnostics run on the vehicle the day before 12/30/2018 at 12:12pm showed an alert! The engine and transmission is not performing as expected. An issue has been detected in the transmission ….(6 weeks pass) Check engine light came on at exactly 2300 miles (56 hrs on engine). Vehicle acted like parking brake was on. If the OnStar service knew about the issue (serious obd2 codes pending but no check engine light), shouldn't OnStar have reviewed the diagnostic report while I had my 30 day OnStar trial period. OnStar is more of a reactive (report after failure) than a proactive (freedom from operational failure) service is my impression. I could have taken the truck in for service before the failure...allowing me time to schedule a loaner vehicle, seen the value of the OnStar service.

The My.gm phone app only showed maintenance (registration and inspection completed), however I found the diagnostic alert from12/30/2018 on the online (website) version of my.gm when researching my truck. The my.gm phone app is missing vital diagnostic information.

OBDII codes confirmed on 2/15/2019: p0700, u0100, p1899, p189A. What was not reported was a P0800 which is a diagnostic trouble code (DTC) for "Transfer Case Control System (MIL Request)".
