Trailer brakes never worked properly from the day I bought the vehicle. I've taken the vehicle in to have this problem corrected three times. Problem was never resolved. Chevy dealer now states that "there is a bulletin" that basically says that if you own a new trailer with LED lights, then you must replace the 7 pin plug on the trailer with an aftermarket heavy duty plug that will handle more resistance caused by the LED lights on the trailer.

Really sad part is that Chevy dealers allowed me, and I suppose thousands of other truck owners to pull trailers all over the country with unsafe trailer brakes without telling anyone. If anyone reading this has had an accident that they felt was caused by poor breaking while towing, I suggest you contact a lawyer.

It seems that Chevy is resolving all of their engineering defects by publishing a "bulletin" However you'll never know unless you look it up. Good luck with that!
