Instrument panel/ speedometer no longer works, first incident happened March of 2010. As of 12/2013 the voltage meter, RPM gauge, speedometer have completely stopped working.
The electrical system on my 2004 Trailblazer ext is not operating properly. The tachometer doesn't register, nor does the battery gauge and uncertain if the reading on the oil gauge is accurate. The fuel gauge is not operable, the needle is either pass E(empty) or pass F (full), I'm constantly re-fueling for fear of running out of gas. When first starting the engine, the speed indicator might register correctly, but then it falls below 0 mph while traveling speeds of 35 to 55 mph and other times it may indicate speeds in excess of 100 mph. Problems with the speedometer first started in June 2012, I used a gps to keep track of traveling speed. Afterwards, the other gauges started to malfunction. No parts have been repaired or replaced.very concerned about safety issues, as I occasionally Transport my grandchildren to appointments. Has Chevrolet made any amendments to correct these problems? assistance needed please.
The speedometer is not registering the correct speed, jumps around while driving and has affected the cruise control. I found that this issue is the same as NHTSA item # 10023585 for most similar GM vehicles, but for some reason, this family of GM trucks was not included in the reported issue. When the vehicle is stopped, the speedometer needle drops well below 0 and then jumps around when the vehicle starts moving. Based on checks with our gps, the speedometer is off by as much as 20 mph.
The instrument cluster stopped working, only the temp gauge and the fuel gauge works. The speedometer, tachometer, oil pressure gauges do not work. I believe General Motors needs to issue a recall on this as this is a common problem with these vehicles.

Speedometer goes completely out, falling below zero while traveling on road, typically after cruise control has been used, multiple warning lights flash while onstar and computer showing no codes after 4X4 used. Speedometer was reading 90mph on a trip and cars were passing me, when I stopped the speedometer read 35mph standing still. It did this for about 3 days, then went back to normal. The other day coming home from a trip it seemed like it was acting up again, but my husband was driving, he thought it was acting up too. It is back to normal, haven't done anything about it.
I am having multiple instrument cluster problems on my 2004 Chevy trailblazer. They have done recalls on every type of Chevy truck but the trailblazer. Why not the trailblazer as well? I have been reading forums after forums and complaints about the same thing and GM refuses to do anything about it. This needs fixed otherwise there may be fatal accidents by engines blowing up from the oil psi gauge not working properly and so on.
My vehicle is currently at 116,000 miles and the speedometer and tachometer all of a sudden went to zero. It continued to stay at zero after I turned the vehicle off. The next time I drove it, it stayed at zero until halfway through my drive when now its stuck at 61 mph, which is where my cruise control was set. The tach now works half the time but the speedometer is giving me misleading information. I live in Wisconsin where the weather is such a variable. I am always using my speedometer in certain road conditions. I have certain speeds I go in certain conditions (light snow, deeper snow, rain to freezing rain, freezing rain, slushy conditions, ice, sleet and just plain normal.) consequences for not retaining the correct speeds in certain conditions in Wisconsin....gee let me think....death would probably be the worst. Nothing's been done to fix this yet because I cannot afford it. It's one of those things that should just work and its a [xxx] shame GM hasn't done anything yet considering all the problems. The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer ext. While the contact was driving at various speeds, unexpectedly the speed odometer and other gauges became inoperative. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for diagnostic testing where they stated that the failure was contributed to the instrument panel cluster. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 90,000.
I have a 2004 Chevrolet trailblazer. For the past year the speedometer has run amok. I can be traveling at 30, 50, etc. Mph and the needle ranges from 20 mph over the speed limit and at times surpassed the 120 mph mark on the dial. Can you help? thanks.

The contact stated he called the dealer and the vehicle was not under warranty and there no recalls on his vehicle. The vehicle had not been repaired. The contact was unable to provide a VIN. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000 and the current mileage was 100,000.
I was drving down the road and the speedometer stopped working while the truck was in motion. It went from 60 mph to the needle going all the way past 120 and pointing down at the odometer. My speed did not change during all this.
Battery gauge failed about 6 months ago and I didn't think much of it but now the gas gauge, oil gauge and fuel gauge are failing and according to everything I have read the speedometer is next. My dome lights haven't worked right in over a year but that didn't bother me. The gauges all failing are a safety factor. It occurs everytime I start the SUV - I do not have the money to repair it.
Instruments on the instrument panel began to fail one at a time starting with tach then oil pressure and now speedometer. Started a couple of months ago and have not had the money to fix. Have to fix it now that speedometer doesn't work. Problems started at about 75,000 miles now at 92,000 miles.
