Trailblazer EXT LT 4.2L 6 cyl

  • Automatic transmission
  • 100,000 miles

Add my 2004 Chevy Trailblazer ext. to the list of thousands with a faulty gas tank. There's literally THOUSANDS UPON THOUSANDS of Trailblazers with this same exact issue that have been reported and we all know there's even more than that, that haven't been reported. I don't know how many of these vehicles where sold in 2004, but I can pretty much guarantee that 80% if not more have a faulty gas tank filler neck.

CHEVROLET why was there never a full blown RECALL ISSUED? WHY IS THERE STILL NO RECALL ISSUED? Everyone knows that the vin# on the 2004 Trailblazer is irrelevant. They all have the same problem, your whole company knows it! Just think how much gasoline has been spilled onto the ground from all these faulty gas tanks.

My Trailblazer alone has spilled probably close to 100 gallons from the gaping hole on the top of the tank before I realized what was happening. Times that by the thousands of others with the same problem and that is A LOT of gas your faulty gas tanks are spilling on the ground. Just suck it up grow some balls and admit the part is junk and take care of your loyal customers and recall all 2004 Chevy Trailblazer ext. For problematic gas tank filler nozzles. Sheesh most people have already ponied up $800-$1500 and fixed the problem while your company has known all along the parts where failing by the hundreds daily. Regardless of what year it is now or how many miles the vehicle has on it ( MINE JUST HIT 150,000 MILES) but the tank was leaking way before that. The tanks are bad, really bad.

Does your company realize how lucky it is no-one has burned to death from these leaking time bombs? The best part is you've known all along yet never let the people who spent tens of thousands on your vehicles that there was a problem. Look I could rant for days how ridiculous it is and just how flat out WRONG it is as a company do turn a blind eye to all of it. Just take care of all the bad gas tanks on these vehicles and be done with it. Thank you

Trailblazer EXT LS 4.2L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 110,000 miles

I have had the gas cap replaced and the filler tube replaced. After filling my gas tank and driving about 300 miles my Service Engine Light came on once again. So back to the emissions repair facility for the third time. They ran the code once again and it was still coming up as an evaporative leak in the fuel system. This time they put my Chevy Trailblazer Ext. up on the rack to further investigate the cause of my Service Engine Light coming on. This time they discover the problem! They found a crack in my gas tank where the gas tank itself connects to the filler tube. They showed me the crack and resulting staining on my gas tank from leaking gas on the outside of the gas tank. Finally after three trips to the emission repair facility and almost a $1000 the Service Engine Light no longer came on and I was able to pass Virginia State Emissions inspection.
