For over two months now I have been dealing with GM as well as different dealerships and auto mechanics to try and repair a safety feature on my 2017 Chev Traverse. I have been told by all of them the same issue or needing items replaced yet there are NO parts. They have been on back order for 1+ years with no ETA in sight. This is now causing the computer in the vehicle to malfunction to cause more damage that also cannot yet be repaired. New issue while driving my vehicle - the entire dash cluster goes black (all still tied to the same issue). Speedometer and all gauges drop to 0 (zero) as if the car was not running or turned on. After a few minutes it came back on with every single service/ error light on the dash. This happened 4 times in the span of half an hour drive. GM's aware and not backing their product or helping get parts to repair, yet I am out the money of the car and a car payment for a vehicle that is unsafe. What options do I have as a consumer" How are these safety features helping when they cannot be fixed, ordered, or repaired. Who's liable for this? Why can't this be recalled and corrected" There are many articles as well as service bulletins from GM about this known issue involving not only my year, make and model but also the Chevy Cruze, Impala, Acadia (N172097060 - Special Coverage - Side Blind Zone Alert Module Water Intrusion) and I would like to know how to file a claim, have this be investigated, and get the problem solved not out of my pocket so that I have a vehicle with features to keep me as well as other individuals safe on the road that I pay for. Why is it that GM is allowed to continue using these parts they know are faulty, and need a shield protector to protect against this exact problem but wont cover there own vehicle and product?

I had my charger plugged into the charge port and for no reason smoke started pouring out of it really bad while I had my kids in the car. Also my chevy link touch screen starting going in and out. My back up camera stopped working, my safety feature of the pre collision sytem stopped working. All of these things happened all at the same time. With all of these safety issues. I do not feel safe driving this vehicle or transporting my kids in it at this point because it appears to be a hazard to mine and my kids safety

The electrical in the car is bad. I know others with Chevrolets and are having the same issue. The power windows nor doors work on my passenger side with the key or door controls. Also their is a squeaking noise when braking in my brake pedal. With new pads and rotors the car don-€™t stop smoothly, feel vibration in the steering wheel. The car is already having an error for the EVAP canister purge control valve. The car isn-€™t tht old to be needing to replace this already.

7/5/22 it has now been over a month since we started to have our car serviced at Ourisman Chevrolet of Bowie. On 7/3/22 while driving up a hill in our neighborhood the engine shut off, the brakes gave out, and the power steering stopped working. Had we been anywhere else my children, husband, and I could be dead from being in a serious car accident. This problem was confirmed by the dealer and reported to be caused by a "defective part" being installed. When I inquired about why there wasn't a recall for this part I was informed that it is a rare defect but they the service department receives a vehicle with identical problems every 3-4 months. We received no warning lamps, messages, or other signs that this was going to happen. During the week of Memorial Day we noticed the fuel gauge misreading and the air conditioning blowing warm. This problem was repeatedly reported. The air conditioning was repaired. The fuel gauge continues to misread.

I live in cold climate with snow and ice conditions.when in motion, usually when the engine has reached running temperature is when the issues tend to occur. I notice it happens more often if there is ice build up on the rims causing an imbalance in the wheels but happens when the car is free of any ice or snow build up. The results of this is out of no where engine power is reduced, stability trak, park assist exct. Warning lights come on. This has now happened to me several times now in different conditions making this Chevy Traverse unsafe for my family of five, this is my only vehicle and the closest Chevy dealership is 135 miles away. With all that being the case I did research on my vehicles issues to find many websites and forums of countless people having the same issue with GM vehicles up to 8 years older than mine any many vehicles of the same year and model. Yet no recalls are found on these models and have put many people in dangerous situations. I have not took my Traverse to the dealer yet because I feel like I would get took advantage of like the hundred or so posts that I read about people that have been and wrote about there dealer horror stories. This is a well known issue that GM needs to fix for there consumer's and has failed to do so for the past eight years

Thia vehicle regularly stalls or will not start due to frequency congestion with the ignition. I have started the vehicle several times and started to back up and the vehicle has stalled. This could be dangerous for obvious reasons. The dealer: Bennett Chevrolet in egg harbor township was notified me and stated there was no fix for this issue. They gave me a printout of all cars that experience this type of interference, but I believe it to be more dangerous to the operation of the vehicle than it is being treated. Please advise. This vehicle has stalled or not started for several minutes throughout the country, but main use is in atlantic county. The video of the problem could not be uploaded, but I do have one from January 7,2019.

Check air bag light came on briefly. Dealer said they couldn't find a code in the system showing that it had come one. Then as I'm driving with my kids in the car, the traction light comes on randomly, it starts wanting to turn off on itself. Mind you I'm on a very busy street with morons going over 60 mph behind me. It could have been a major accident! I went to advance auto cause I thought maybe it was my battery, even though its a brand new car. No. it wasn't they tested it and everything. So I called the dealer and they took it in for a day to then tell me that it is showing battery codes. I had just checked the battery the day before! so I knew it wasn't that, but they wouldn't do anything about it. So to play it safe, I bought a new battery. I had the place I bought the new one from test my old battery and big shocker the test came back as a good battery. So I spent the money for a unnecessary battery. A month goes by and nothing happens. Then about 2-3 weeks ago my screen starts complaining about "disk error" the dvd system isn't even on, and I'm not playing music on it either so it shouldn't be showing me "disk error" even if there was a disk in it. The [xxx] thing was off! and yesterday my husband goes to drive the car and it starts acting crazy again wanting to turn off on itself. So I'm done. It's a hazard to my family to own this car. Also, I heard from an acquaintance that owns the same car but an older model that this was happening to her vehicle too, and that it was covered under a recall but because ours is newer it isn't covered. So we got screwed with this vehicle. Thanks GM. The first time I had an issue with this vehicle. I was stopped to pump gas, tried to start vehicle and it would just make a shaking and start but not turn over, check engine light came on, car had to be towed to dealer and they said an issue with defective part, fixed it and it happened again as so as they turned it on said it was the ECM. The second time I had an issue was much more severe. I was in an accident and hit on the rear driver side, minor damage, however the car was jolted forward and completely disabled itself, shutting off completely, and never activated the on call, or sos. Just thrusted forward and shut whole car down. The car was able to start after a few minutes, however the check engine light is on and the car engine is shaking again. Both times car is undrivable, and needed towed. I have only had this car for under 3 months.

My vehicle whether stationary or in motion routinely does not chime for a passanger or driver without a seatbelt. The light does come on but it will only chime 10% of the time. I am not having issues with it chiming when there is not a person is in the seat. I am concerned this is a life safety issue with my vehicle since if I am driving and my passanger takes off there seatbelt it does not alert me with sounds. It also does not alert me woth sound if I myself forget to apply my seatbelt. I have called and spoken to the dealership and taken my vehicle in multiple times. One of the service people have heard this issue occur where it would chime sometimes when he did not have his seatbelt on and other times it would not. I am concerned that the airbags may not function correctly if the seatbelt and weight sensor for the passanger and driver are not functioning properly. I have been advised that it is not an issue per the dealership and to me it is as I have never had a car not chime notifying you that the seatbelts are not fasened. The dealership did take the same type of vehicle off there lot to test in a different car and that vehicle never chimed for the lack of a fastened seatbelt. I first noticed this when my vehicle was at 500 miles and it is now over 5000 and still not resolved.

While driving my 2017 Chevrolet Traverse at interstate speeds, the vehicle, without warning, shut down. When I say shut down, I mean shut off completely. This was a complete loss of all power to the car. The engine shut off, the lights (internal and external) shut off, there was no power steering, the brakes where difficult to push down, etc. As I am now coasting down the interstate with no power to the car I put it in neutral and turned on my flashers. With no power steering and brakes that are stiff, I somehow was able to slowly force the car to the side of the interstate and get it to stop. I tried to restart the vehicle and it would not start. I put it in park and sat there for a few minutes before trying again. Once I tried, the vehicle started and I was able to drive home without further incident. The morning after this incident, I started up my Traverse and noticed that the fuel gauge is showing empty, but the car had a half of a tank when I got home last night. There is something serious going on with this Traverse and Chevrolet vehicles in general. This is the 2nd different vehicle that I have owned that has shut down while driving down the road. The 1st car was a 2016 Chevrolet Impala.

I was driving my 2017 Chevy Traverse with only 12000 miles on it when a light came on for "traction control " within 3 seconds I lost all power. Thank god I was not on an expressway at the time. I had to get my brand new car towed and they said a fuse blew and they replaced that. Then another light came on and they had to replace the module. I was without a car for 3 days! this could have been fatal had I been on a busy road or expressway. I will be getting rid of this car asap and do not even feel safe driving it to the dealer to trade it in! I've recently learned this is a big problem in GM cars and it's very dangerous! shame on GM they need to get this problem fixed before somebody gets killed.

First problem is that the fuel guage fluctuates. Second and most frightening, while I was drinking on wed. The 19th of July with my son, my Traverse completely shut off. I took it to the dealer that night, got it back the following Monday and was told that the problem couldn't be duplicated. I'm guessing this is the standard answer to these problems. It's not acceptable to me I that I know that this has been a previous issue with this vehicle. I am also frighteningly aware that there have been deaths caused by this. I am still driving the vehicle trusting that GM stand behind their vehicles as well as they technicians. Please, please fix this problem!! I am aware of the previous recalls on earlier Traverses and I want it to be known that this issue is in fact still an issue. A very serious issue!!!
