I bought two brand new 2019 Chevy Trax LS and LT models at a model year end sale. They are great looking vehicles! However, I noticed the trim around the passenger windows beginning to tear away from the door frames on my Trax. I then looked at my wife's Trax and saw the same issue occurring. The trim either shrinks or expands in a way that the trim tears away from the door frames. I believe this is a material failure of the rubber trim around the windows. I hope the new trim my dealership installs does not have the same material issue.
These are brand new vehicles that should not be experiencing this type of failure. If it happens again I will continue to get the vehicles warrantied to replace these parts as this is not something I did. I still love my vehicles, it just annoying when these are depreciating assets and expect to get the full life out of these vehicles. Thanks for listening.
