Bought the Trax (1.4L turbo) with 81k miles. Soon after, it ran rough and hesitated after refueling. My mechanic said the radiator was leaking so I keep topping off. They mentioned a Chevy special-coverage bulletin that was related.
Kept adding coolant for ~2 years; consumption was high and rough running got worse. Eventually a dealer replaced evap emissions purge valve under special coverage N212338400. That fixed the post-refuel stumble but not the overall rough running. I also had some codes: P0171, P0299, P0300, P0442, P0449, P0496.
Unexpectedly while driving on the highway (and uphill) the engine shook hard, “Engine Power Reduced/Service StabiliTrak” popped, CEL blinked, no power. Towed; white smoke at tailpipe. Tow driver suspected coolant ingestion/head-gasket failure needing engine replacement. Odometer was 124,180.
I ended up trading it in for something else, but it really sucks that it died so early. I still owed $6k on it too.
