Couple months after having a baby, we were concern about safety of my old car so we bought new Chevy Venture. Until last Thursday, I didn't have a problem with that car. I was low on the gas so I went to get some gas near my house. It was only five minute from my house. As soon as I finish putting gas on I started smelling something. At first I though someone was barbequing in backyard or somthing. Then I keep smelling smoke so I went closer to front of my car. At that moment I wasn't sure and I touch the hood of the car and it was hot and i ran into the gas station and told people smoke was coming out of my car. At first, I thought there was someting wrong with the gas since I just finished putting gas on. When gas stations workers came out I could see black smoke was coming out from hood of my car. People try to put smoke out but they couldn't and they finally called police and fire department. At that moment i was freaking out and i didn't know what to do. And somebody told me to take the baby out of car. So I took the baby out of the car. people told me to move away from car, and i was holding my baby and move away. When fire fighter came it was clear fire was caught and blazing. Fire fighter tried to put the fire out and they had hard time putting out so they force open the hood of the car and totally dismental the car. by the time they put the fire out my car totally junk. I called my husband and he came and talk to fire fighter. At that moment I was in shock and i don't remember what fire fighter was talking about. My husband later told me what fire fighter told me. He said there seem to bird nest or some sort of pine neddle collect inside of the car and it caught on fire. At that moment I didn't know what to make of it. When i think about more later and there was lots thing I don't understand. First, I only drove for five minute and then enqine was off so I could put gas on. I mean what kind of car heat up so fast it caught on fire just like that. I talk to my brother and he said that car is lemon. I just got called from my insurance company and they said they are going to fix it. I am scare to drive that car. What kind of a car caught fire when engine is off. I never heard car caught fire because there are leaves or pine needles inside the car while engine is off. Now I said Chevy Venture is sh*tty car.
