HELP 2013 Chrysler 200 convertible now has knocked and rattled for the last 16,000 miles. It has 36,000 now. It is an embarrassing rattle trap. This car is a turd. I would trade it off if a dealer would even call me back. This is the Pinto/Vega in the Chrysler line. They are what are great grand parents referred to as a (clunker). Clunking starts after approximately 20 to 30 minutes after you start driving it. Park it overnight or let it cool down several hours and the noise stops. 20 to 30 minutes of driving and away it goes again.

I have Googled, stopped at Chrysler dealers, alignment shops, after a lot of head scratching and maybe this maybe that, $500 here $1000 there. Some think rack oil gets hot, struts, tie rods maybe steering shaft, frame aprons broke, stabilizer, outer links. axle shafts.

What do you do with sh*t like this. It's a quest. Chrysler as with most manufactures could care less once you buy the thing. I just want to get it fixed.

The front end/steering started knocking when I drove. I could feel it in the steering and pedals as well as hear it. In addition the steering felt off like it was loose. Took it in to the dealer to find the problem. I specifically asked for them to let me know what the issue was before they fixed it, they said they would. After keeping it for 2 days and tearing into it (the tech's words not mine) They determined it was the inner tie rods. He told me that this is an issue with these cars when they heat up.

My choices were to let them complete the repairs for in excess of $400 or they could just put it back together and not fix it. Felt like I didn't really have a choice since they had already started on it. My question is if this is an issue with these cars, then why is it still happening??? If the technician is aware of this problem then why has Chrysler not recalled??? I love my car but have to admit if it is messing up at 18,000 miles, maybe I need to consider trading it in on something more reliable.
