The dealer advised that the failure was common in his year, make and model but did not inform the contact of the exact failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was 96,000 and the current mileage was 100,246.
The contact owns a 2006 Chrysler 300. After starting the vehicle the contact noticed that the gear shift would shift out of park. The vehicle was taken to a local mechanic where the gear shift assembly was replaced. There were no prior warnings. The current and failure mileages were 85000.
