Chrysler had recalled the 5.7 hemi in the USA but not in Canada. Because a failure of the timing chain guide causes the timing chain to break, causing the pistons to impact the valves which the impact the camshafts and then the impact of the piston heads impact the crankshaft. The internal engine is totally destroyed. The fastest and most economical solution was to replace the engine with a motor from a wreck with 94000 km.and make their suggested modification .I then conformed to FCMs request to install their modification again in the replacement engine. They then informed me that because I had used a used part, ie, a replacement engine, I was not qualified for any compensation. The Chrysler 300C is a beautiful car but FCM's attitude is deplorable. I drive a hire car and carry one of the destroyed valves in my car to explain why no one should ever buy an FCM product. Their so called customer satisfaction department is a complete misnomer.
