Bought this car used 4 months ago. Has 44,000 miles on it. Car has been very well maintained. Contacted the dealership when we noticed the flaking problem around the hood. Since the initial discovery around the hood, we've found more clear coat peeling around the drivers door/window seal. The clear coat is peeling in an area that can not possibly be considered "road hazard". The dealership took pictures, contacted Chrysler and was told the car is out of warranty... too bad, so sad. The estimate to fix this is over $3600! The auto body shop stated that if one or two areas are failing, brace for the rest of the car to look like it has skin cancer as well!!
A quick search online turned up that Chrysler has been having paint issues for years. No big secret, we, as well as the rest of the car buying world, figured they had taken care of the problems. Apparently not! Chrysler absolutely refuses to do anything about this and I absolutely insist they will.
