After dealership examined vehicle for previous suspension recalls and found nothing wrong on vehicle in 1999, consumer was starting to accelerate from a stop sign and turning right. Front right lower control arm disconnected from vehicle, and right front wheel kicked out from vehicle also, tie rod separated, and passenger's side axle became dislodged from transaxle. Please provide any additional information/attachments.
While driving 30 mph consumer heard a scraping sound from front end, then a noise. Front axle had broken. Prior to recall 97V-201 the lower lateral arm ball joints failed. Consumer not sure how the lower lateral arm ball joints works in conjunction with the axle. However, consumer question whether or not this could have caused the problem.
Vehicle experienced failure of the recall component prior to recall notice causing severe damages to vehicle due to loss of control. (97V-201) (attorney for consumer).
