Vehicle stalls intermittently, mostly when slowing down and using electrical part, such as power windows. Dealer replaced fuel pump, but it did not remedy the problem.
This is the fifth engine in the raleigh area that has had this failure between 60000 and 80000 miles, it is similar to the failure noted with the similar neon engine, and a technical bulletin has been released.
Consumer has had several problems with vehicle. Brakes do not work, they grind and the pads keep wearing and have to be replaced, dealer stated the problem was with the calipers. Water is leaking into the vehicle due to sunroof being cut too short during recall 99I004, consumer feels there might have been previous problems with water leaking due to a rusted fuse. Speedometer does not work. There is a transmission leak. Air conditioner does not work. Engine light is illuminated. Windows still don't work properly. Mirrors do not work properly after recall 97V015. Vehicle gets poor gas mileage, dealer stated the spark plugs were burnt and fouled, spark plug wires were breaking down and arcing in tubes causing a build up in the throttle body.

Blown head gasket after only around 54,000 miles - mechanic said that the car shouldn't suffer from such problems at such a young age. Chrysler corporation notified but refused to help saying the car is out of warranty. In addition, the car suffers from significant engine noise when idling and the air conditioner just went out. While I understand that the car is out of warranty, I am very disapointed in the quality of Chrysler's product and the company's unwillingness to stand by their automobiles.
Car won't run or idle at low speed or at a stop in gear. Replaced cap, rotor, plugs, no change. Dealer troubleshot for seven hours and replaced the ais motor and cleaned heavy carbon out of the intake. Dealer told us to drive the car around to allow the cleaner to remove the carbon in the intake. Extremely dangerous task. The car's performance has not improved. Dealer suggests replacement of the PCV valve. Remedy seems suspect.
When driving and applying the brakes they are soft but the brakes make a loud noise. Consumer had the vehicle in for service fourteen times. When driving vehicle and decreasing power, the vehiclee will stall and die out. Vehicle was repaired 6 times. The consumer was driving to work and the vehicle shut down 22 times. Vehicle will be back in the shop.
Consumer was approaching a traffic light applied brakes when the pedal traveled to the floorboard, resulting in a collision. Twenty seconds after the collision the vehicle caught on fire in the engine compartment, cause of the fire undetermined.
Doing hwy speed (60-65mph) when vehicle suddenly died out. Let vehicle sit for a while & would be able to restart. Took to dealer & could find nothing wrong. Dealer at first dealer stated that the fuel pressure was low possibly due to a faulty fuel pump, however later dealer stated that dirt and water in gas caused problem, another dealer stated that it was impossible to be able to even drive 200 miles on a contaminated tank of gas, however current dealer insisted this was the problem and that consumer would have to pay for repairs, dealer removed fuel tank, installed new fuel pump, replaced fuel filter, and reinstalled new tank.
