problem #1

Dec 182006

(reported on)

Sebring LXI 2.5L V6

  • Automatic transmission
  • 60,000 miles

The car was previously owned by my girlfriend's sister and now she has it. The paint on the trunk lid, roof, hood and fenders had began to flake off the clear coat and then the paint began to do the same thing. Now the paint is gone on about 30% of the car and it is begining to rust. I have not yet had the time to take the car to Chrysler but did take it to four different body shops and was quoted between $2,500-3,000. I have pictures of similar Chrysler Sebrings and Dodge Avengers in town with the same problems (5 cars). The owners of those vehicles said the same things: black vehicles, paint began to flake and fall off around 40,000-50,000 miles and no help from Chrysler/Dodge. I would not buy a Chrysler Sebring/Dodge Avenger EVER.
