Car lost power steering and brakes, found out later there was a recall (L25). Brought to dealership in old saybrook, ct. Parts not available. Recall is for exactly the same symptoms we experienced. Called Chrysler for rental or other dealerships, told I was out of luck and out of warranty it is not a warranty issue it is a recall issue. They said park it or drive it. They say it is safe but it is not. If the engine turned off on the highway my kids would be dead. Its ridiculous that they have a safety recall and don't have the parts, they are open for huge liability there. Bottom line is I don't have a safe car due to their defect, and they wont do anything about it. Eta on repair part is not know by Chrysler.

My Chrysler Town and country minivan is experiencing major electrical issues including, all dashboard lights coming on, no speedometer readings, no gas gage, wipers go on and off, driver seat moves randomly while driving, and radio/clock come and go. At times the transmission will not change gears. This vehicle is a major safety concern. I believe it's problems with the tipm. I have no idea how fast I'm driving, if I have any gas, have to adjust to the seat moving while I'm driving down the highway. Sometimes the headlights go on and off while driving at night. This is a major safety concern. Please hold Chrysler accountable. If you need a vehicle to test, mine is currently experiencing these problems.

Purchased a used 2008 Chrysler T&C. drove have had intermittent electrical issues in the past year (approx. 12 times) different electrical items would malfunction. Radio would not turn up or down but come on at a loud volume and stay there. Cabin lights would not work then work than not. Brought it to the dealership where they could not tell us what was wrong. Clock was not working for a while. Middle of the night the alarm, lights, and doors would open randomly. Returned to the vehicle with door open when no one had been in the rear of the vehicle. Brought it to an electrical specialist who could not diagnose. Replaced the battery and tested the alternator. Was not either as the problems persist. Replaced the 6 mos. Old battery on Thursday and it was dead by Sunday. Brought it to the garage but no one can tell us why currently we have no horn or steering wheel controls as well as all cabin lights are out.

Once it was replaced under warranty, but since it has malfunctioned many times while driving, triggering lights, horn, windshield wipers and washer, flashing headlights, dash lights, alarm etc. Usually resets itself after unplugging the battery for 10 minutes.

While driving at 60 mph with my husband and daughters in the van, power was lost as the van stalled. Had to turn the key to the off position and restart the engine. This has happened multiple times and at varying speeds. Chrysler needs to do something now before it happens on the interstate and we get plowed into by a semi!!

I bought a brand new 2008 Town and country in Dec. 2007. For four years it didn't have a problem except for the whirring sound. This problem of tipm probably appeared about two years ago when the van suddenly overheated along the freeway while driving just about 12 miles from my home. The service center said that there was a leaking hose in the cooling system but I told them that prior to that the wiper just started to move without turning it on. The service center apparently fixed it. But the same thing has been happening on and off. All the service center can say is it is drivable. About two months ago it overheated again, and my wife who was using the car had it towed to the Chrysler service center close to where the car stalled. That is the carpros in renton, Washington, who said that the problem again was the coolant system hose that was leaking, also something about the timing belt that needed to be changed, the cylinder head gasket that needed to be changed. While I have an extended warranty they were charging too much so I had it towed to the service center where I bought the car. This service center fixed the cylinder head, got the car back but still it has the same problem of windshield turning on, lights going on and off in the instrument panel, dinging sound going on and off even while driving, driver seat rocking back and forth. I sent it back to the service center where I bought it from and this time they finally said that it is the tipm that is causing the problem. They told me that the electronic board was changed totally and was reprogrammed. But the following day, it still has the same problem.

Regarding safety recall: L25/NHTSA 14V-373 I have been complaining about this problem since 2008! since it is an intermittent problem, the service representatives at East hills Chrysler (greenvale, NY) ignored me. I was told repeatedly that there was no such problem. My car stalled several times when I was on NY expressways going approximately 55 mph, and on neighborhood roads going a range of 25 to 40. It happened to my 18 yr old daughter on the long island expressway when she was going 55. We and you are lucky no accident occurred and we were able to get to the side of the road. The car does not start properly either. The ignition does not catch unless the fobik is wiggled of the brakes and gas pedal are tapped repeatedly. I complained about this problem every time I took my car to the dealership over the last 6 years. Each time, I was given a different excuse. Now East hills has my car indefinitely because parts are on back order indefinitely. To boot, the loaner car was dirty, smells bad, windshield was smoky, one tire needed air, and the washer fluid was empty. I am not at all satisfied with this car or the East hills Chrysler dealership. Maybe someday, you will also acknowledge the brake system problem. For now, it's about time you acknowledged the ignition/fobik problem! we've known about the problem for years!
