The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler Town and country. While driving 45 mph, the vehicle inadvertently veered to the left and the eps and ABS warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a faulty tire. The tire was rotated to the rear of the vehicle. The failure recurred. The vehicle was taken to another independent mechanic where it was diagnosed with a steering angle module and clock spring malfunction. The vehicle was not repaired. There seems to be an issue with the clockspring mechanism in the steering column of the 2008 T&C vans. Mine went out and when the mechanic tried to get one from the local dealer he was told that it is backordered along with several hundred backordered. Obviously this is an issue that needs to be addressed as it affects many items.

Engine shuts down completely causing loss of power steering and brakes. No warnings, just dies. Diagnostics reveal a bad totally integrated power module. Recalls issued for multiple models but not mine. I was told, I have all the symptoms but I don't have the flu ! now they want almost $ 1000 to fix it ! it's an established, defective part but they'll let me drive away in it unless I can come up with the money. Chrysler said it's the same part as the recalled ones but I don't have a recall on my model. Ant time any where at any speed, it shuts down.

I have a 2008 Chrysler Town and country. My VIN number is [xxx]. I had the recall (R03 / NHTSA 14V-373) done to my vehicle that when driving the vehicle just turns off and steering locks. So I took my vehicle in for repair of this recall however, it still does the same thing. Whenever driving it turns off and locks wheel which in several instances me and my family could have been involved in an accident. I also let a friend borrow the vehicle and it did the same thing to him. Now I took it back to the dealership which is Jeep Chrysler located at 55 w I 240 service rd, Oklahoma city, ok 73139. They stated the codes did not show a module repair and they could not replicate the problem. However, this is the same issue as before. They supposedly replaced the module and the key fobs before during the recall repair. They wanted me to pay and authorize a two hour diagnostic for a problem that should have already been repaired. This has been an ongoing problem with this vehicle since I purchased it. However, when I first went in 2011 and addressed the issue with Jeep Chrysler organization. They stated they could not duplicate the problem. However, years later now that a recall for the same issue that was reported by me previously, they tried fixing it. Attached is the recall for this problem. Even after they allegedly repaired this problem, it still does the same thing as before turns off, so the problem was not fixed correctly. Now they are wanting me to pay for further testing of my vehicle before they will repair the issue. It is a true safety hazard and could lead to serious injury. I also have witnesses who have noticed this problem that they claim they can't duplicate at the shop. Information redacted pursuant to the Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA), 5 U.S.C. 552(B)(6).

After the ignition switch recall was performed on my vehicle we experienced a stall condition that rendered the steering and brakes unusable for several seconds. The situation nearly resulted in an accident. The condition happen on a dry, sunny day while the car was in motion but not accelerating prior to going into a turn.

While I was driving on the on-ramp to a highway my car hit a bump and lost control and I started sliding. Thankfully there happened to be no one coming. I noticed that when my van stopped halfway in a ditch and halfway on the left lane I went to move my vehicle it wouldn't move so I then noticed it was off but still in drive and the key was still on. So I put it in park and shut it off then turned it back on then was able to proceed driving but since then my esp/bas, and traction control light have been on. After having that happened I had the recall on my van fixed. Well the lights are still there and now the driving is worse. I cant control my steering and they say it is my steering angle sensor. They also say my catalytic converter needs fixed and a PCM flash. Which I don't understand how all these problems started since my ignition unwillingly shut off. I am thinking that caused a power surge, and now its going to cost me $2000 to fix it if not more. My problems now are: 1) misfire in cylinder 4 2) rough idle 3) accelerating slowly while RPM's are above 3000 4) stumbling while driving (shakes or vibrates really bad while in drive/ or putters) 5) esp/bas, traction control, and check engine light illuminated on dash 6) steering wheel shakes from left to right on its own 7) loud engine noise 8) motor shakes 9) ABS reader says to replace steering angle sensor (clockspring) 10) there is more I just cannot think of it right now. This is currently what I have fixed in the last two weeks to see if it helps the problem. 1) oil change (always up to date) 2) spark plugs 3) spark plug wires 4) battery 5) ignition coil pack 6) upstream O2 sensor 7) recall done on win module ignition switch fobik key I have contacted Chrysler to inform them of this and they tell me there is nothing they can do about it and its not a manufacture defect.

After several months waiting for the R03 recall to be done, it was finally fixed. To my dismay, as I was driving off the parking lot of the dealer who fixed it I started hearing a clicking noise in my steering wheel. It was never like that before and now there is a problem with it. Dealer claims it is the clock spring assembly and will cost be roughly $500 but dealer refuses to pay for it. They stated they were no where near the steering wheel which is hard to believe since they were replacing the ignition which I thought were right next to it. And I've actually read several consumer complaints that had a similar problem. Chrysler is looking into this but I won't hold my breathe.

We bought our 2008 Chrysler Town and country in may of 2014 used from kunes Ford antioch Illinois. The first time I went to use my electric start, about 15 mins after car was going the van started going crazy windshield wipers/ fluid horn blaring doors lock can't use the fobik key to unlock the only way to stop it was to disconnect battery. Couple months past and it started acting to where I would go to start the car and it would just click and would T start. It has done all of the listed above numerous times but now it is getting more and more. About 3 weeks ago it did it 7 times in one week 4 of those times I had my 4 children in the vehicle. While I am driving down the street it will start to do this craziness and then it will stall. Yesterday August 4 2015 it did it twice the second time it started with wipers while driving when I got home I parked it took the key out of ignition and the van was still running and doing the wipers the doors locked and I could T get it unlocked to get my children out of the car. I have had it at a Chrysler dealer for service for 2 weeks where the service manager drove it personally he was able to get it to do the same thing to him. I had my vehicle returned after two weeks charged $235 dollars and was told good luck to you we have no clue what's causing it. I have been in contact and complaining to Chrysler which I now have a case manager who could only tell me to take it to dealership while its in process to have it ran for codes which I did yeaturday and was laughed at but the service guys. I am at my wits end. This is the car we purchased for our family to be safe in but instead I am driving a death trap and no one has an answer or wants to help. Someone needs to do something about this this is a serious problem. I just googled it and found tons of complaints about same thing. This is an issue for sure!! please help!!!

Noticed loud grinding noise coming from front end of vehicle and vibration in steering wheel. Noise and vibration increased with speed. Was told both front bearings were bad and needed replacement. Understood a recall was conducted and a service bulletin was issued for the 2008 Town & Country, but Chrysler said my vehicle was not affected, which is odd considering the issues in my T/C seem to very the very issues found within the recall and bulletin detailing required repair.

I made an appointment for the recall to be fixed. The dealer called me the night before and said the part was used for another customer. I made the second appointment for June 26, 2015. The dealer called the day before and confirmed. I got to the dealer at 8:10am. At 9:15am a sales associate came out and told me that the part was not there. I wasted my time and am very disappointed!! I do not have anything positive to say about Chrysler. Their customer service is the worst I have ever had to deal with as a consumer. This is one week later and not even the manager has called me. I will never ever purchase with Chrysler again!!
