THIS WAS THE SECOND TIME THIS REPAIR HAD TO BE DONE. FIRST AT ROUGHLY 38000 MILES NOT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY. SECOND TIME AT ROUGHLY 75000 MILES. THESE "Y's" leak slowly and are not obtrusive until they will suddenly split and strand a person (the happened first time)

This "Y" branches the coolant from the front passenger heater supply to the rear heater supply and there is also a "Y" for the return line. The entire thing comes as a KIT with aluminum tubes and the "Y's". It is a defective design using defective materials.

I noticed smoke coming from the hood on Monday morning. Looked under the hood and saw coolant had leaked out and sprayed onto the underside of the hood. Made an appt with goodyear service center near me. They knew right away what the problem was. They just repaired another one in a 2011 Town country two day before. They were waiting for a shipment of the hose assembly because they told me this was quite common. Apparently, you can't just replace the plastic Y or T that the hoses connect to. You need to replace the entire hose assembly. Even the repair people told me that this was a design flaw. Did I think it was a disaster ....no but I sure will think again about another Chrysler product. This is a simple design flaw that should have been corrected via recall a long time ago. My entire bill was $590............49 for automatic diagnostic charge to identify the problem (which they knew anyway) and the rest was for coolant, labor and the new hose assembly. I am not a happy camper.

I have the same car as a friend of mine. Her radiator hose split this summer, leaking all the fluid, causing overheating of the engine and a loud knocking noise. Mine did the exact same thing. I drove on it slowly trying to get it to the mechanic (not realizing what was going on). By the time I got there, my engine was severely overheating. I am currently waiting to hear back from him, suspecting the very worst. It just seems coincidental that both of our cars did the exact same thing within 6 months of one another.

my 2010 Town and Country has a handi-care conversion for my wife and her wheelchair. On the way home from doctor visit the van overheated in a cloud of smoke.

It is scary to have my wife in this situation with the only way to get her home is to get another handicap van or quickly fix the leak.

The leak was a pin hole break in a plastic Y joint in the heater hose connection.

A Good Samaritan came by with all the equipment to make a temporary repair to get us safely home.

With the help of Youtube I found help to fix it myself and avoid the costly repair and down time at the dealers.

The TC has not been reliable with electronics and brake problems. I will avoid buying another Chrysler.

As I drove my wife to work on 2/19/2015, on my way home about 1 block from my home at a red light, as soon as it turned green, I proceeded to accelerate, however the car drove slow and started smoking everywhere. I pulled over, opened the hood and got sprayed, and burnt in my face because of a bad defective heater fitting Chrysler used on these minivans, they should have had a recall.

I was able to get home, however the vehicle was undriveable and I got hurt. Chrysler dealers estimate from $300-600 for the fix, however it would be the same defect installed. I went to Home Depot, purchased 2 brass tee's, a few hose clamps, some heater hose, then to AutoZone for antifreeze, the total cost for my fix that is a permanent fix was $60.00.

Now I should be able to file a suit against Chrysler for this problem. Do some research people on YouTube, you will see millions of customers who did the same fix however, Chrysler should be paying me for this fix the same amount they would have charged when I called for a quote, $600.00 plus my aggravation, not to even mention a few blisters on my face from antifreeze. This could kill someone, cause a fire electrical short, the motor to burn up, etc. I am going to escalate this matter as I see fit so hope you people with this minivan be careful, it is a death trap.

Update from Aug 20, 2015: I replaced the y fittings both of them myself, the dealer stated I also need a new radiator, and cap. But they did not test it so how would they know. I went to Amazon.com purchased a $40.00 test kit works fine by the way the radiator passed the cap failed gee Chrysler keep ripping us the people off. Total cost for me to fix coolant system $80.00 this included professional test kit, 2 aluminum y fittings, and a new radiator cap, Also I think this is worth mentioning. If your vehicle requires HOAT brand coolant that pink crap you can purchase the Zerex G-O5 Antifreeze - Made by Valvoline. It is the same coolant Chrysler used in fact they purchase it from them then Chrysler uses a dye pink anyway this coolant color is yellow, do your own coolant flushing system

Update from Oct 29, 2015: Since this part burst as I was driving, I have had many problem with the engine knocking, pinging timing rough idle radiator water pump all because Chrysler-Dodge used defective parts. I have a video that I hope to upload soon, well as soon as I figure out how to work my camera. To all of you with similar problems you are not alone. Chrysler -Dodge you have failed this city.
