The following was taken from a Lawsuit webpage...

A class action lawsuit claims that the UConnect infotainment systems in the Chrysler vehicles can freeze and stop working, posing a range of safety hazards for drivers and others.

The Chrysler UConnect defect class action lawsuit was filed by Edward Pistorio and Paul Murdock, drivers who say that the UConnect infotainment systems in their vehicles do not live up to advertisements by the vehicle manufacturer, FCA.

They claim that they experienced problems like screen freezing, loss of backup camera, unintended reboots, loss of navigation system functionality, and others.

Although the radio unit worked fine for years, The worse part is when it sounded like something exploded inside the radio or thru the speakers while I was on the freeway. I expected to see smoke afterwards and I would have had to call 911 for help but fortunately nothing happened other than the radio screen flashing on and off being extremely distracting. Due to this defect, I not only lost my radio / media player but my UConnect thru my phone and the van's backup camera which I miss the most.

I am seeking for Chrysler to replace the radio unit with a new one, as anything used may have the same problem after time and used units are not guaranteed. I will post a video of the issue soon.
