The passenger side sliding door has started intermittently not closing/latching completely whether closed manually or using automatic closure. The door will close but report as open either immediately or sometimes randomly while driving down the road. I know because the door ajar sign is lit, it makes a door open noise, and the overhead lights will even turn on. This could last seconds or minutes. I have had success closing the door manually multiple times, but I can't stop every 5 minutes on a longer trip. You can hear the motor continuously trying to close but will not latch. I have not been able to replicate for dealer, but searching online demonstrates other users are having this complaint. This also seems to happen more during warmer weather. I worry that a failure of the door latching mechanism could cause safety features to not perform correctly during a collision.

When I unlock my van or open my door and it unlocks a loud buzzing noise comes from my passenger back sliding door, it happens every time, not occasionally. I have already been on a message board online where hundreds of van owners are reporting the exact same thing. WHERES THE RECALL

I have two distinct electrical problems first front windows when using the window both side when rolling up window has broken letting window fall back down into door and will not work. I have already replaced driver side July 2020 am in process of repairing passenger side Jan-fen 2021. Secondly side doors do not always shut securely and keep clicking like they are stuck and will not latch. Does this on both sides must get out and manually shut the doors a few times to get it secured. The side door on driver side did have to have electrical repaired in 2020 as the door shut and would not reopen at all. This repair was done by my mechanic.

This is an addendum to complaint # 11361493. The actual date was the previous date, 09/25/2020. No other restraints or air bags deployed, only the front passenger head restraint. There were two people in the car, the driver and front passenger. The passenger was wacked by the head restraint but did not receive any injury. The local Chrysler dealer stated to replace the head restraint would cost $680. This is the status to date 10//09/2020.

Rear evaporator core corroded and leaked. Needed replacement as the ac was no longer working. 69,000 miles. Both the repair shop (midas) and an auto dealer confirmed that this is a common problem - and both independently commented on bad design - that the core is directly exposed to road salt and undercarriage moisture, fostering corrosion. Repair cost was $849.72.

The drivers side rear sliding door (automatic) does not fully latch, especially during hot days. It continues to try and fully latch until I manually close it by hitting the area where the latch is with a hip or fist. At times it will set off the alarm while stationary if the doors are locked as the door will even attempt to open on it's own. Based on other reports I've read of people having this same problem, their doors have even unlatched when driving. This is a major concern as it poses a safety hazard and based on research I've conducted it's a known problem for this model year. Please send to Chrysler. Thank you!

My car was towed to the dealership on July 7, 2020 because it would not start or respond to anything. I was told the battery needed to be replaced and was called to pick the car up on July 10, 2020. When getting in the vehicle, I needed to adjust my head rest. I couldn't get it to where I could be comfortable and reclined the seat to keep my neck from bumping the head rest. After 2 weeks of this, I was putting stuff on the floor behind the seat, looked up and saw that the head rest was popped out. I tried to put it back and it would not budge. After researching this online, I found a lot of reported instances of this type of head rest deploying when the car was parked or while idle. There are youtube videos showing how to reset the head rest. When I took it to the dealership, they said my head rest was broken and would require removing the seat to replace it with a new one for over $900. The passenger side has the same type of head rest. It could deploy at any time. I don't feel safe driving this car. The dealership left a voice message saying my warranty has expired and that I am responsible for getting it fixed. I bought this vehicle used with under 16,000 miles on it. It now has under 41,000 miles on it. It passed inspection. At no time was I informed of a problem with these head rests, but there is a lot of detailed information about these head rests malfunctioning. They are on many chrsyler, Dodge and Jeep models between 2011 to 2018 give or take a year. My car was fine when I last drove it, but it was not fine when I picked it up. There is no indication of what triggered this. Only one of the two front head rest deployed. I believe a safety recall could save lives and serious injuries from happening. I believe the manufacturer has known about this defect for quite some time and failed to inform the consumers who own vehicles with these specific head rests.

Jul 242020

  • 67,500 miles
The headrest on the passenger side of the vehicle spontaneously deployed without warning while I was driving one day. There was no accident, sudden stop, or anything of the sort. It simply occurred while driving. Thank god no one was riding in the passenger seat at the time. After it happened, my husband and I looked up this issue online and discovered hundreds of folks that stated the exact same thing happened to them in their Chrysler vehicles. This headrest is supposed to be a safety feature (which we knew nothing about), but it seems to be the exact opposite. The plastic holding the pin in place simply broke. There is no way to push the headrest back together, so now it is sitting deployed causing the passenger's head to be pushed forward.

When driving on the freeway in heavy traffic my headrest deployed and hit my head with such a force that my glasses fell down to the floor of the van. My eyesight is pretty bad and I had to continue driving on the freeway until the next exit with limited vision because I was unable to pick up the glasses from the floor while driving on the freeway. This was an extremely dangerous situation manufacturer and dealer have not been contacted. Consumer is having neck pain and headaches as well as dizziness. Consumer went to the doctor 3 times and was given pain medicine. Manufacturer was not contacted.

In June the engine had to be replaced in my vehicle. In may, the oil container was replaced. Now in September the transmission is being replaced. Last year sometime, there were electrical issues addressed. Now the air conditioning in the back of the vehicle does not work. It seems we are totally rebuilding the Chrysler Town & Country 2015 all at substantial costs to me. While they are putting in a new transmission, they tell me that they are too busy to check the electrical issue and the air conditioning troubles. Yet I waited for nearly a month for a westchester dealer to replace the engine and they did not honor my additional insurance by giving me a rental vehicle - so I had no transportation. I have had a horrible time with the troubles, inconveniences and costs. Don't I have any rights here? I was driving my vehicle on narrow streets in a busy resort area - thank god it was very early in the morning because the car just stopped running with no warning. This turned out to be transmission on Sunday morning labor day weekend! I am still in the resort area paying for housing while they "fix" my transmission. Parts were to arrive yesterday Sept 10th but didn't arrive until early this evening. They are not sure they can have it fixed by Friday Sept 13, 2019. Last summer the electrical stability went bonkers. That was another issue. Also my vehicle keeps going down in value. I owe more on it than it is now worth. Documentation is with my vehicle which is currently undergoing transmission repairs. That is documentation of all of these repairs since making this purchase less than 18 months ago.

My transmission. Do not buy from safford dealership in warrenton va!!!! or Chrysler or do not buy the warranty, it is a rip off. They charge you and than don't honor it!! they tell many lies to get out of paying for the repairs and to get out of the warranty have already paid for. I have bought many cars and would never recommend Chrysler!! look at all the other reviews before buying.
