This horn makes my head hurt and it seems like no one had a resolve. Could not find any shorts in the electrical system, removed the switch for the horn, car horn still goes off randomly.

Avenger SXT 2.4L

  • Automatic transmission
  • 90,000 miles

Horn does not work when pushed and goes off by itself. Took it to the dealership where a mechanic slapped my fusebox and told the clerk to get a new TIPM asking for over $2,000 to fix it. My car also had a recall and they refused to fix it unless the horn was fixed as well. I ordered 3rd party TIP from rockauto and got it installed by my mechanic. It didn't fix the problem and the next thing he suggests is to replace the clock spring. Many Dodge/Chrysler/Jeep have the same problem and there is still no known fix.
