Challenger SRT8 6.1L V8

  • Manual transmission
  • 32,000 miles

A D V E R T I S E M E N T S

I do not drive this car often. That is why it has low mileage for a 2009. Everyone is complaining about the shifting sticking especially on a slight incline. There even is a bulletin. My car is now past warranty and I will have to pay to have the transmission spline cleaned and degreased. This is a known defect that effects many 2009 Dodge Challengers between 15K to 30K miles. Dodge should stand up and stand behind their product.

Challenger 5.7L

  • Manual transmission
  • 48,000 miles

This is a known defect with the tremecs when it was assembled in 2009. The wrong oil/grease was used on the shaft for shifting of 2009 models 5.7l hemi vet. 6 speed manual transmission and other models of 2009. This is a really dangerous problem Sometimes it binds so hard I must turn my vehicle motor off so that I can shift gears. Dodge has known about this for a long time and refuses to stand behind this particular defect of the component gear driver/input of the vehicle operation for shifting. Every dealer I take it to tells me it is a clutch problem they act like they don't know anything about it but they do, and will not even try to get Dodge to stand behind their product and it's defect. The dealers solution is this "oooh because you have x amount of miles on your vehicle it is no longer covered under warranty and you need to replace your clutch etc. etc. If this had happened within the 3 year 36 thousand mile time frame it would have been replaced with warranty." My clutch has no wear on it!!! The cover was removed to check and it is in perfect condition. This is a SERIOUS DEFECT that Dodge really needs to stand behind. I am very disappointed in Dodge and I doubt I will ever buy another Dodge product. This is the only vehicle I have ever ordered in my life just the way I wanted it. It is my baby, I will not sell it. But, I will tell everyone I know not to buy from Dodge because they are not standing behind a known manufacturing defect. They corrected the problem in newer models, why can't they stand behind a mistake during the trial and error of building a beautiful muscle car. We all learn from our mistakes and Dodge corrected the problem in newer models, so why are they not standing behind the problem they know exists and pay to fix the 2009's with this problem???????? :( I am very disappointed because not only have I paid over $32,000.00 for my dream car I now have to spend money I should not have to spend to fix a problem I did not build. I bought the expensive lifetime warranty and this is not covered under that either. I baby my vehicle. Do I enjoy the speed, absolutely, but I have never get on it, I NEVER burned rubber, or beat it. I worked hard to pay for this vehicle and I intend to keep it for as long as I live. This is serious, PLEASE DODGE hear my complaint and stand behind your product. This needs to be a recall
