The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that while adjusting the driver's side seat, both the accelerator and the brake pedal traveled to the floorboard and caused the vehicle to have low acceleration power. The contact mentioned that both the brake and accelerator pedals would rise or fall simultaneously depending on the adjustment of the driver's seat. The contact stated that the vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 143,000.
The gear shifter was in park position and there it stayed was unable to shift gear to anything and had to take the console around the lever apart to shift gears. And the brakes squeak all the time even after having them replaced and the rotors replaced as well as the struts. Chrysler they say car is not part of the ones that they will fix the shifter on. The contact owns a 2006 Dodge Charger. The contact stated that while driving 30 mph the contact smell burning fumes inside the vehicle. The contact merged to the side of the road to inspect the vehicle and notice a fire on the passenger side headlight. The fire department was call to put out the fire. The vehicle was destroyed due to the fire. Upon investigating the cause of the fire, the fire marshall stated the ABS system caused the fire. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The VIN was not available. The failure mileage was 50,000.
The ABS, brake and traction control lights came on. Then when you hit the brakes you would feel a vibration. The brakes do not vibrate any more but all the lights are still on. There was a recall for the 2007 Charger for this but not the 2006.
